Hannaford — Local services in Gray

I have been coming here since it was built. I like that it’s right in Gray and most times I don’t need to go to Windham, Auburn or Portland. I like the selection of foods here and even during COVID-19 they kept all the departments pretty well stocked. There are some items during the pandemic that were in very high demand and sometimes not available. This wasn’t really the store’s fault as some customers bought huge amounts and it was difficult to keep up with the panic buying. The staff is great and they all followed the State mandates during this extremely hard time. I found during the pandemic, the meat department keep the shelves very well stocked despite the national news stating there was a meat shortage because processors closed or reduced output. I usually go to this store daily or every other day buying just what I need for a day or two. The store itself is well kept and clean and layout makes sense and I always know where to go for my items. I like that I can find locally supplied foods from farms and entrepreneurs. I have a shout out for the floral department also for extremely nice arrangements and all kinds of potted plants along with seasonal decorations inside the store and outside on the sidewalk. The other thing I can’t do without is CLYNK for my returnable deposit bottles and cans. It is so convenient to have a CLYNK account and card to track and save up my deposits. It is so nice to just buy the bags at the store and take them home and bag my returnable for return back to the store. CLYNK picks up my bags, counts them and credits to my account by the tag provided you stick to the bag. The bakery and deli are the best, they have such a large selection of deli meats and cheeses and baked goodies...

Came to this area for vacation and stopped to get some groceries for our stay. My interaction with the guy in the meat department on July 19th around 645 pm was probably the rudest customer service experience i have ever had. I was with my partner and father. I asked the employeefor seasoned chicken breasts and he completely ignored me, looked at my partner and asked if we wanted a different type for less money. I responded no thank you as they werent the kind I wanted and he looked at my father and said sarcastically “ this generation.( mind you i’m probably ten years older than him.) She just wants to spend money. Spend all your money on chicken then.” It took me almost ten minutes to get the chicken as he was giving us such grief about selling it to us. Finally, i told him i thought he was being quite rude. He looked at my father and said sorry if he came across as rude but he is NOT sorry at all to me. The whole experience was completely bizarre and I will not be back . I cannot believe they allow an employee such as this one to work here. There were several other extremely rude comments he...

Great hot food selection, fresh fruit, awesome deli, and SUSHI (At some locations),, also I've had the BEST experience with their pharmacy. They care 💯. Nice that they bag for you, too. I'm a former NYer, never had this happen before! It's magical...um, as long as.the person bagging has a sense of weighted stacking, cold from not...etc. .(eggs under my cooking oil and clothing detergent...the bdetergent bucket was okay, but a) not with food items, and b) on top of my fragile baker's dozen?!or any food?! Sadly they were crushed like my fragile old heart. I joked with the kid last couple of times and he's cool, not worth yelling at someone 1/3 my age over something not yet learned, 🙃 eh ...
