I always love a good Mardens deal. The Gray store is smaller but has a good selection of tools. It is one of the last small town stores left. My wife and I went in to return some pants last night. She said “I’d like to return these”, the kid working just replied “return or exchange” and the people working there acted like they were annoyed they had customers at 5:30 (half hour before closing). She said whatever is easier on the return even though she had already specified, no big deal.
She was patient, even apologizing to the people in line with blank stares. The employee had trouble counting change. She was patient, said to the older worker maybe it’s generational?. The woman working got mad and blamed the register instead of empathizing. All this for an $8 pair of pants..jeez.
Not a great experience which is kind of sad because they are usually so friendly at Mardens. Maybe it was a one off but left...

Tools, tarps, tons of carpets, spray paint, lighting, seasonal(including Halloween costumes etc), clothing (so many clothes in all sizes-plan on looking through them all), kids and adult shoes/boots, arts and crafts stuff, school supplies, bedding, dishes and serving stuff, pots and pans & cutlery too, for a fraction of the coat at a big box store. I love their winter selection and my man, of course always scopes out the tool room...is what I call it 🤷🏼♀️🤣 ty for being awesome for so many random things that we cant always find elsewhere...this is the place to go for many things in many categories, they have so much inventory...
