Miss Dottie's — Local services in Gray

I don't usually post reviews online, however this most recent experience was so bad that I need to let others know about it. I had made several purchases here for an overall total of around $660.00, which is a lot of money. I was hesitant to make certain higher purchases which I made clear the day I bought them and they basically put sales pressure on me and never mentioned anything about their return policy. On one occasion I was told if I changed my mind on one of the necklaces I could ship it back and they would give me a refund. So I drove back down there to return a few items not everything. As a matter of fact I purchased 31 items overall and was only returning 4 items that all had been purchased at full price and no discounts. It was that day I was down there again to return these items and they said only store credit was allowed which was news to me as I was not fully aware of their return policy. I asked to speak to the owner but she also refused to provide a refund and said only store credit could be issued. Let me say she would not budge whatsoever even with the fact that I was never told about the return policy. If you can imagine I was not happy and I desperately needed my money back. I was not going to leave without my refund. The next thing she goes to the back and makes a call and comes back out and within minutes officers arrive. They asked me to walk outside with them which I did to tell my side of the story. During this process I was already on the phone with my bank disputing the charges. It took a while to complete the phone call with my bank to file a dispute as they needed further information. The officers were going back and forth between me outside and inside to the owner. They asked for my license for the report and I gave it to them. The next thing is they want my signature for a criminal trepassing form and the owner wanted me to leave and this form basically meant I was not allowed back on that property. I could not believe that this owner would resort to such drastic unnecessary measures. I literally was in shock that this was actually happening. So I leave with my merchandise and a copy of that form. Just for the record after this horrible treatment was done to me I never intended to ever set foot at that place again so hence a form was quite ridiculous. This experience was so wrong and uncalled for and never should have reached that point. I have shopped at many places in my life including other small private owned places but nothing like this has ever happened. I came here at the recommendation of a friend. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular nor did I really need anything...however I was able to lighten my checking account easily and quickly and with minimal assistance from the awesome staff at Miss Dottie’s.

I started somewhere near the candles and handmade soaps and somehow wandered into a sizable clearance room...and there was SO MUCH ON SALE!!! I barely made it out with my life, much less room in my basket.

Lucky for me I had just enough strength to make it to the Pandora and Brighton jewelry counters where I had one of the fabulous ladies there assist me with making what I will call my “Battle Bracelet”filled with charms representing some of my adventures!!

My husband & I just purchased a home here in Gray. Unfortunately I have been busy & it has taken me almost 6 months to visit this cute local shop. I absolutely fell in love with it! The staff is so friendly & helpful! I didn’t go in for any particular reason other than to look around. The staff offered help but allowed me to browse at my own pace. They have many “one of a kind” type items & items that represent our community. They offer monogramming & gift wrapping, so this shop is perfect for many occasions!
