I am going to preface my statement by saying, my family has order from this business several times and they used to be a great place. They then fired all of their good workers and hired a bunch of idiots. Let me explain.
My family ordered a hog from them on June 12th with no cured meat. Was told when it would be ready and called to verify on that date (because things happen). We were told we are running really far behind and it won't be ready for another week. Called the next week and they can't find the order or figure out what happened to it. We were promised it would be ready for pickup that Wednesday. Called and was told it was ready, the meat had been paid for, drove out there and "OH, were sorry, we can't find the meat". Talk to a manager and was told it will be ready by Thursday. Call on Thursday, no sorry it isn't ready". Promised it would be ready by Friday. Called on Friday, no I'm sorry it isn't ready but it will be by tomorrow. Called Saturday and "No, I'm sorry, it isn't ready but Call next week. The business is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Gave them an extra day and didn't call Tuesday. Called Wednesday and was told yes, your order is ready and is laid in full, we are open until 6 today and you can pick up anytime. Drive out there after work. Go inside and they can't find the order, then they say oh here it is but you have an unpaid balance for the cured meat. We didn't order any cured meat. So I call my family to confirm the order. The lady at the front started taking other phone calls and serving other customers. I was just shoved aside. Eventually they got back to me and finally found the order. Said they will have it right out and that it was paid in full. I sat in the car with my kids for 25 minutes. My Mom called to make sure I got the meat picked up, since there was an issue with the order. They never brought it out. So, my Mom called and was told...." We have lost the hog, we can't find it". There were 5 people in the front lobby. They were not going to let me know. They just let me sit out there. I go in after that and, yes I was upset, asked why no one came to tell me there was problem. Two of the employees stayed silent, one said sorry and laughed, the gentlemen said we'll I was searching for your order (okay, but not now?), and the other girl said we'll I am putting stuff away. I don't care. There are 5 of you and none of you reported there was a problem. No one came out, no one called. I asked for the owner and was told he is on Vacation. Asked when he would be back and they said they didn't know. Asked who was in charge when the owner isn't there. They said Tim is the manager. When will Tim be in. We don't know. He just shows up when he wants too. Are you kidding me. Nothing was said or done to make any of this right. No, we will find out what happened and call you tomorrow and we apologize. They literally think that they can just say sorry we lost it and keep the money. Do yourself a favor and go to White's Meat Market in Ashland. Don't waste your time with these incompetent idiots. June 12th the hog was ordered and it is now July 25th and it is lost.

Read moreDecided to stop after seeing signs for it & check it out. So, off the main drag & beaten path we go… Pull up to a well Kept & interestingly decorated building. Inside is a nice sized, clean & decorated @20x40-ish showroom area with glass refrigerator/freezer units facing you as you walk in. Everything is labeled what it is on the bin of meat. All the packaging also states what it is & then gives you the price of that specific item. They have a large selection of cuts on beef. A decent option for pork & typical chicken selections. They also have frozen meat options, sides & other offerings. (Cheese sticks, tater tots, mushrooms, jalapeño poppers, fries, cheese curds, various veggies & all sorts of breakfast offerings & other options.) Plus a central shelving “aisle” with various sauces & condiments (I’m presuming it’s mostly more for the RV camping park just down the way.) There’s also a smattering of candy, and other purchase options such as t-shirts or small stuffed animals.) Everything is clean, bright & obviously well cared for. The pricing is on par with store prices & def more expensive than The Chop House (our fav for cut, quality, TASTE & pricing - but an hour 1 way from us & in a direction we simply don’t go - makes it a deliberate stop instead of convenience).
Overall it was a good experience & the cuts and quality are def worth the extra stop if you’re on Industrial Parkway or near Grayson, Cattletsburg or the surrounding area.
Another interesting side note is that they do provide butchering of your livestock. The pricing for that is def fair & reasonable. We will call to verify if we are able to slaughter our own bull & simply bring them the quarters to process. Or, do we need to deliver a living critter to them. Read moreShould be a option of -stars..Taken a steer here for processing. Was given a 10-14 days turn around. Never a phone call within that, so given couple more days and called. Was told that deer season is here and they are slammed. So I ask about mine that has been hanging already closely to 17 days, was told goin to check. Lady came back and said u are next in line to be done. 3 days later no called to check and still hasn't been processed..roughly 28 to 32 days hanging before it was processed..once done 3 days later no answer...fuming over this, told wife goin to go there to pick it up, we go to check on it..they seemingly say yes it is ready..pd them and left got home..laid burger and brisket out in fridge to be thawed for the weekend. Opened up burger, and smelled rank, brisket same way..called complained and complained..manager stated owner will make it right if it's bad..I taken them beef ribs, burger and steak for them to check themselves..owner 3 days later called said hey I personally opened up this meat cooked it and we all here in facility ate it..and don't think there is a thing wrong with it. Gave me a line that he saved some to send to his lab..lol..to check if anything is really wrong..no answer back...called again..finally git him to agree to replace 250lb of the 435 I picked up from mine. But never have done that replacement and never can reach them back..reported few times to usda health..and to this day no answers from anyone...so never again..lost a $2500 steer, and little over $400 processing..Never again, or will i ever send anyone or talk good about this place.. not to mention same day as picking up..3 other customers either same problem or shortage...
