Mebane Shrubbery — Local services in Green Level

It's early in the spring planting season, and I visited Mebane Shrubbery before they got their new deliveries. All I had to choose from was some surplus plants, on sale, and I bought several. I enjoyed meeting with the owner, Susan, who is knowledgable and friendly. I hope to do more business with this nursery in the near future. She has a good thing going here. Her staff is helpful, too: Steve, Mr Paul, and Jill at the front desk all helped to make my initial shopping visit an informative and positive experience.

Update: it’s nearly the middle of May now, and I bought a considerable amount of soil enhancer, topsoil, and hardwood mulch, which they delivered promptly and cheerfully. Their service is great.

Nothing exceptional. OK if you just want tomato plants and some annuals. There were shrubs, but nothing too exciting. Probably a good place for mulch ,and soil. I went there because it was a Proven Winner distributor. They do have proven winners plants. I wanted to talk to the owner - However she was behind the counter without a mask! And so was the other gentleman behind the counter! Their website clearly states “Staff wear masks”. They seem to be very busy with phone orders of rocks and mulch. They didn’t seem interested in customers who actually came into the store. This place would be Ok for local people, but not for avid gardeners. probably will...

Mebane Shrubbery is my favorite garden store! I've gotten many yards of garden mix dirt, gravel, and mulch from them at an incredible price and also buy garden starts from them every spring. The muscadine vines I got are thriving too and even produced grapes in their very first season after I planted them. Last year, I harvested thousands of dollars worth of produce from the garden plants that cost me less than a hundred dollars total to get from here.
