this place will blow your mind 🤯 [SAVE for a future stay] 📍Goblin Valley boasts one of the most unique, otherworldly landscape in all of Utah. arriving at our yurt felt like we had landed on another planet. DETAILS: 🛖 there are 2 yurts available to book in the Goblin Valley State Park campground. both sleep 5 comfortably and are pet friendly. we stayed in yurt 1 (most popular, pictured here) 💰cost is $150/night. amenities are pretty bare-bones. you’ll have to bring your own bedding, cookware, utensils, cooler, etc. bathrooms are a short walk away. there is electricity, a propane grill, drinking water spigot, and an AC unit/propane heater to keep you comfortable depending on the the time of year you visit. 🥾 nearby hikes include: 📍The Goblin’s Lair 📍Caramel Canyon Loop 📍Goblin Valley Trail to book a stay visit stateparks.utah.gov is staying in a yurt on your bucket list? #goblinvalleystatepark #utahunique #visitutah #utahstateparks #bucketlisttravel #yurtlife #itinerary

It was tough to narrow down this list to just 6 state parks- if we would have included all the amazing ones we’ve been to, this reel would have been an hour long. Some of our other favorites include: Goblin Valley, Utah Goosenecks, Utah Valley of Fire, Nevada Smith Rock, Oregon Ecola, Oregon Wallace Falls, Washington Julia Pfeiffer Burns, California What’s your favorite state park in your home state?

Don’t miss these other-worldly U.S. state parks: 📍Goblin Valley: If you’re driving between Arches National Park and Capitol Reef National Park, stop by this charming park located off Hwy 24 and spend some time wandering among the goblins. 📍Makoshika: walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs in this fascinating park located about an hour from Theodore Roosevelt NP, and check out the Visitor Center to see fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and other prehistoric life. 📍Cathedral Gorge: kids of all ages will love to explore the cave-like formations and cathedral spires that were formed tens of millions of years ago. Get lost in the maze of passageways, or take a longer loop hike through this wonderland. Have you visited any of these yet? #statepark #stateparks

Goblin Valley State Park in Utah is like stepping onto an alien planet. The valley is full of eerie, mushroom-shaped rock formations—often called "goblins"—that stretch as far as the eye can see. These goblins, created by centuries of erosion, give the area its surreal, otherworldly atmosphere, making it a must-see for anyone fascinated by unique landscapes. The rock formations are the star of the show here. They're not only beautiful but incredibly fun to explore. The colors are striking, too: shades of red, orange, and brown contrast against the deep blue desert sky. There are no formal trails in the valley, so you're free to roam and discover formations at your own pace. Just wandering through the goblins is an adventure in itself! If you're looking for a bit more structure, the park offers a few nearby hiking trails. The park also feels very safe for families since there's plenty of space to explore without getting too far from parking areas. However, there’s little shade, so hats and sunscreen are essential, especially...

$20 to visit the valley, an additional $15 to stay at the campsite. We will never forget how fulfilling this visit was! The park rangers were extremely helpful during the check in process, with lots of information and tips for our visit. The campgrounds featured hot showers and bathrooms center to all of the campsites. Because the park is a certified Dark Sky Park, the night sky was absolutely astonishing to see. In addition to the wonderful hoodoos and main valley, there are many other trails to discover other unique sites. We were surprised at how few people we ran into while in the valley and other trails considering the natural beauty of the park itself. Would come here again and a thousand times over. The only “negative” part of the whole experience was the sand that seemed to sneak in/on everything in our campsite, and inherently in our tent as well. If you’re more careful about the sand than we were, you should be fine. In addition, you may have to stake your tent down due to the high wind in the...

A must when you're close, walking in the valley is such a blast. Absolutly stunning. The park isn't really big however you can walk in the valley for hours long, so much to explore. I would recommend the park to families especially, the children would absolutly love it. As a fotographer you should be here in the late afternoon, the sun on the rocks gives a special sort of effect. Sadly I was only here...
