Billing department told me that they canceled membership over the phone, management at the gym said it could only be canceled via signature in person. I understand that, but the billing department represents their company and I ended up owing them $184 in unforeseen charges on a card that wasn’t even open anymore. I had no idea I owed them any money until a debt collector called me, I showed Kent at the gym that I didn’t receive a text or an email from anyone associated with the gym about the billing issue. Not mad at anyone, I’m just leaving a one star because they outsource their billing to someone else and they cannot manage it effectively. Quick Fitness 24/7 is an awesome gym. I needed a gym while caregiving for my mom earlier this year. Their prices are extremely affordable and they have a great lineup of equipment (some cardio, mostly strength focused). I also belong to Planet Fitness and I can say that what Quick Fitness may lack in size, they certainly make up for in variety of equipment. This is not to say that Quick Fitness is small by any means- it’s the perfect sized gym for Greenback. The staff are kind and the lock technology made entering at anytime super simple. Hands down best gym in Blount county. You will not find a better collection of equipment anywhere else, and the equipment is very well maintained. From the hammer strength plate loaded machines, to the new Arsenal strength equipment, this is very much a place to workout. Those old school metal plates manifest the best vibes. Senior friendly, beginner friendly, at home friendly, or gym friendly!! Everyone can do some sort of kickback variation. Here I’m just doing standing bodyweight glute kickbacks, but you could also add a band around your thighs or ankles, or do these on a cable. Seniors get great balance work on their standing leg with these, so hold onto something if you need to but gently so you can practice your balance as well! Really squeeze your glutes at the top when you pause to connect with the muscle, and take your reps nice and slow. These can work your glutes and low back as well, so don’t worry if you feel it in your back too. These falling stomps help us with a few different things, and they’re pretty fun to do! We’re working our balance muscles as we’re on one leg, we’re working hip flexors and core as we lift the knee, we’re practicing catching ourselves if we stumble, and the impact part of the stomp actually helps with our bone density! Anyone can do this exercise, but I really want all my seniors to see this one! Start small and soft and work your way up to a bigger, more dramatic step and stomp. Take your time with it and make sure you feel safe and comfortable! We’re working the muscles of the legs without any load, so it’s great for those recovering from injury, or with limited weight bearing abilities. No squats needed here! You can focus these two different ways, one way is to lift and straighten the leg while thinking about toes towards the ceiling, or you can take these and imagine pushing something away with your heel. Try both ways and see what feels best for you! We also get some core work and hip flexor training with these as well, so if you start to feel it in your abs or front of the hips that’s to be expected!
