Walker Getaway — Local services in Greencastle

I rented this cottage/cabin out for a weekend getaway to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and I couldn’t have been happier with choosing it! We had a total of 8 guests including a toddler. Upon arriving we were greeted with cookies and balloons and a little card left on the table! That was such a sweet gesture that really meant a lot to us. We throughly enjoyed the hot tub and had a blast making s’mores at the bonfire pit, as well as grilling some steak and chicken. The whole place was stunning to say the least and we had plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels, as well as the basic necessities. I loved having a little coffee bar area with many options to choose from, as well as syrups and creamers, being a past Starbucks barista, that made my heart happy lol! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a mini getaway or just a trip to relax for the weekend! There’s so much to do around, such as Raccoon Lake Park, and Turkey Run State Park! I couldn’t recommend this place enough to everyone! We can’t wait to be back and you better believe we will! Our stay at the Walker Getaway was absolutely magical. Rae is an exceptional host who knows how to create an unforgettable and cozy atmosphere. The layout of the home is so fun, and offers a lot of room to spread out. We have 3 children (age 3-10), and they couldn't get enough of the beautiful backyard. The gorgeous and thoughtful space was just decorated with subtle touches of fall, and smelled so inviting. The delicious cookies greeting us upon our arrival were a special touch we appreciated after a hike at Turkey Run. Rae's extra attention to detail and genuine kindness made the experience over the top. This amazing A-frame is perfect for families or a romantic getaway. Walker Getaway/Rae’s Rentals was such a great place to stay for Labor Day weekend! My in laws met us there, roughly a half way point. We had plenty of room and the space was so inviting and welcoming! We have three little kids and they enjoyed it too!

It’s close to the beach area for Raccoon Lake which we enjoyed twice. And used the wagon and chairs that were provided by the rental. We also took our boat out on Raccoon Lake at the Walker Dock which was maybe 5 min away from the a frame cabin!

The space was so clean and had cookies and a welcome note to greet us when we got there! A great way to have purposeful time away with our family! We’re already try to plan a weekend...
