Joshy K: NY Magician & Mentalist — Local services in Greene Township

Joshy K came to perform at our daughter’s 6th birthday party. He is phenomenal! We’ve seen quite a few magicians at NYC birthday parties over the years, and Joshy was engaging, quick, funny, and knew exactly how to hook his audience, whether little kids or jaded adults. He also did about half an hour of “strolling magic” to warm up the crowd, and there were definitely some very appreciative responses from adults too. For me, one of the best things is that while the party was for 6 year olds, there were several older siblings in the group who made a thing about not wanting to see the magic show because they’d seen it before. Hubris. Joshy K said “you haven’t seen it the way I do it!” and proceeded to rope in the doubting 10 year olds, who all eagerly came to see “just the first trick or two” and stayed for the whole show. My daughter was enthralled, and after Joshy K’s rope trick whispered to me “Best Magician Ever!” I’m attaching a photo of her face during his grand finale, and you can just see her awe and shock… Joshy was also very responsive to questions and texts, came on time, eminently professional, and if we do another similar party next year I’d book him in a heartbeat. One thing to mention, Joshy is not only good about including all the kids, making sure to have multiple “helpers”, but he was also quite good about engaging adults - his show was the first time in many of my kids’ parties where I was also called up to help with a trick, and it was honestly one of the most fun things that I’ve done in a while. Our employee activities club (3M Club of Albany, NY) booked Josh for a 45 minute Zoom show last week for our membership. Josh was super easy to work with in arranging the show time and date and getting the remote Zoom meeting setup. He was diligent about checking in with us as the show approached and had the meeting set up and ready to go a few minutes early so I was able to log on and check in with him on Zoom before the attendees arrived. I had seen Josh's promotional and recorded show footage as an example, and the magic translated even better than i had hoped in the online medium. He got many of our members involved in the magic, and wowed us at every turn. Josh's show material was very family friendly, which was great since we have many folks still working from home and they could share the magic with their kids (who all had a great time!). Josh's mentalism tricks were the talk of the next work day's meetings ("How did he do that with the T-shirt?!?"). Joshy K is the bomb! He came and did a fantastic show at a brooklyn playground party. He kept a group of 15+ Four and Five year olds (and their parents and surreptitious park patrons) totally enthralled for a show that lasted even longer than the agreed 30 minutes. The show itself was wonderful and totally entertaining, as much for the kids as for the parents and was such a relaxed way to give parents a break from the usual birthday party small talk. The kids went bonkers for him and we’re completely focused and well behaved, each and every one. It was like…. Magic. He showed up, said hi and needed no additional support. Suddenly his PA was up, he summoned the kids and they were on their bums watching wide eyed in seconds. He was great at involving the kids and especially the birthday boy and when he was done he graciously said goodbye and POOF…. he was gone.
