Cherry Pond — Local services in Greene

This has been a great little beach until recently, we went this evening so that my 7 year old could do some fishing after dinner which is a pretty normal occurrence however this evening we were “greeted” by I’m assuming one of the neighboring houses owners who completely flew off the handled bars and was screaming full volume at my child, using all sorts of obscenities and everything else under the sun.

Mind you it was just us, not making any large amount of noise or disruptions to anything along the beach. This man however would not stop screaming at us but particularly my child who’s in second grade. He kept screaming that the beach was closed ( mind you this beach doesn’t close until 9pm) however it was barely passed 7 and the sun hadn’t even set yet. We ended up leaving very abruptly because clearly without knowing the full intentions of this grown man who sounded under the influence it was the safest options for my child (who was terrified) and myself.

We will no longer be coming back to this area after this evenings encounter, other parents and beach goers please be aware of this situation. As I said we’ve been coming here for some time and never once have had any encounters such as this, the fact that this homeowner felt the need to scream at a stranger not to mention and literal child is absolutely disgusting behavior and not something I’ll be subjecting my child or family to...

This place is beautiful! It felt like you were on a little sansy island when you walked through the trail and sat on the more "private" part of the beach. We went around 10a, and it was quiet til about noon when everyone wanted to enjoy this beautiful space. There is a porta potty, which is great.
