Came here for a fun Sunday with our kids. We have been coming here for 4 yrs straight just for the honey crisp! Before driving an hr we checked online to see if honey crisp were available. It stated they were but when we got there they told us not all of them were ready so we werenāt allow to pick them. He gave us an alternative āsweet Tangoā he sent us off straight down beyond the shed when we got there all the apples stunk from how rotten they were. They all had holes and looked rotten . We were able to find 2 apples semi perfect and they also had a weird taste. After walking for half an hr and not finding one good apple we decided we were just going to buy from the tables upfront and pick plums. We couldnāt find the plum trees and found a worker(the son) driving around in his cart. We asked him for directions but he insisted on giving us a ride. When we got to the plum trees we were very disappointed on how tiny they were(gum ball size). We didnāt get any either and decided to buy tomatoes and apples upfront. On our way back up the big hill we encounter the son. He asked were our apples were and if we were just filling our bellies up. We told him we didnāt like the apples and were going to buy the pre-picked ones. He went off on how we were not looking hard enough. And told us he didnāt want us walking around if we werenāt buying any and told us it was a $4 charge per person for eating apples (We tried 2-3). We told him that was fine we can pay whatever and we were going to buy anyway. As we walked away he kept going and told us to āgo homeā and that he never wanted to see us again! Even my 5 and 4 yr was shocked with his attitude! Also the bags this yr are smaller for the same price.. $30! Not hire but racist old farmers be able I donāt see him acting the same with all the white people munching and walking around! Also why should i pay $30 for something I donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family visited Knaptonās Orchard and did NOT feel welcomed or comfortable at all due to the fact that the majority of our time there, we were being stalked by the elderly man (known as "Pops" or "Mel"). Our group consisted of adults and kids and, while picking raspberries, he drove up to us in his kart and just sat there⦠watching and lingering around us. Afterwards, we went to pick apples and he again followed us there⦠watching and lingering⦠and even proceeded to literally yell at some of the kids accusing them of āthrowing applesā and stating ā more than once during our time there ā that it was āa serious apple-picking farmā. Once we were finished, we went to the entry area to pay for our fruits, and again, he followed us there⦠watching and lingering, and he made sure we were all buying something and made it known that if no one was going to purchase anything, that there is a $4 fee for each person. I tried to tell him that we were all going to purchase something, but he was too busy calculating the $4 headcount to even hear me. Anyway, I finally make my purchase and of course voice my/our frustration of how we were being treated by him during our entire visit and how he did not make us feel welcomed or comfortable at all specifically only targeting us/our group the entire time. Of course the staff are this manās kids so of course they defend him claiming āhe is the nicest manā and āheās not racistā. Sure. Ok. I expected THAT response. Iām sure he is ⦠if you look a certain way. Itās unfortunate our family outing had to end like that and that the kids had to witness such gross racism. Needless to say, you will never see us there again. We will be spreading the word to allies of anti-hate and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot very welcoming, Iāve come to this farm a couple times a year, this year when we asked if we could go look at the raspberries the owner flat out told us that if we didnāt buy anything we couldnāt walk through the farm š my friend ended up buying things but I just didnāt want to buy anything after he basically told us to leave if we didnāt buy anything.. I donāt want to go to a place and worry if my child eats an apple or a raspberry to be scolded. I have never gone to a farm and having to tell my 3 year old he couldnāt try the things we are picking. The lady that took our payment was extremely sweet however. So maybe itās just the owners that are a little rude.
After reading your other reviews you deserve one star.. if you seriously charge people for trying the produce before buying I just canāt⦠so basically I would have had to pay 4 bucks today because my son ate 3 of your raspberries 𤣠learn to be a human before you start working with customer...
