I really like the Stop & Shop in Greenfield. I feel like there prices are decent and they have a huge verity of items. I really like the large selection of store brand soda. The produce section is fresh and the meets department always has what I'm looking for. The bakery is pretty decent. This store also had a section just for organic products. The things I don't like about this place is the lack of a proper bicycle lock up or the ever growing self checkout section. Otherwise I will usually shop here. There are a lot of great things about Stop & Shop.

I've never been much of a Stop & Shop person. Big Y is my grocery store, for the most part. Whit that said, I do, occasionally, enjoy shopping here. They have some items that Big Y just doesn't have. As of writing this (02/14/23) they are completely re-doing/renovating the entire store. So it's a bit of a mess! But they are working there hardest and doing there best to get it done quickly, safely and nicely. Hopefully they aren't working there employees too hard though. I can see that happening.

Stop and Shop is a decent grocery store option. While they have a wide range of products prices and stock can vary. In terms of customer service, it's hit or miss. Some staff members are friendly and helpful, while others seem disinterested. The convenience of their online ordering and delivery is a plus, but it's not always the most reliable service. Overall, Stop and Shop is an average grocery store. It gets the job done, but it doesn't particularly stand out in terms of value or service.

This has got to be the worst, most poorly run grocery store that I have ever seen in my entire life. After my last time there I will never go again. This store routinely is understaffed at the checkout lanes, and the manager consciously opens only one lane with a specific, older employee who absolutely cannot run a cash register/checkout (turns the conveyor belt off and slowly pulls groceries around, gets confused constantly, unpacks and repacks bags of groceries at glacial speed; you can see every customer that she gets clearly confused and irritated and super long lines) on purpose to promote the self-checkout; while 3 or 4 employees stand around in the self-checkout area chatting each other up. Other employees seem miserable and I can understand why given the management. Some aisles smell like urine very often. A female manager once followed me and asked to see my receipt after I checked out with my groceries (not self check out), like I was some kind of thief.

Last time I was there they announced after about 40 minutes of shopping that they "still can't cash anyone out" (meaning "finish transcations" in English). While I understand that this would be a technical issue out of their control, it was clear when I went to the front that it had been going on since before I had arrived; no one was stopping people at the entrance and warning them about this problem; they were fine to have 50+ people (with one register open) standing around and didn't see any need to inform new customers coming inside. There was also another time in the store where no one could buy groceries because of a computer issue, which I understand was national.

Moreover, the announcements made by the female supervisor who always seems to be working at night have an obvious over-the-top facetious and snide demeanor that is just annoying. Another time there was just a ground hum BLASTING through the loudspeakers for about 20 minutes. On top of all of this of course, the prices are ridiculous. I think I'll stick with Aldi and Big Y...

Each and every employee that shows up to work and does the best they can through this unprecedented time is a treasure. Real life hero? At this critical juncture, yes. Many real life heroes in today's world and it's awesome to see folks helping folks. Had a pleasant conversation with 3 of your example setter employees in Greenfield regarding what they are doing for us and they were even more gracious and concerned than I was when I told them my daughter was a PA and was treating patients in a Covid-19 clinic in the Springfield area. She will be kept in their prayers and they in mine. Just a great visit.

I do feel a first impression and being a good neighbor are the basis for building loyal customers but potentially turning on that customer who has been loyal to another grocer and it's the overall operations of that one store that will help new customers return.

There is so much trash around your property that it says that as a business, you don't care. To allow your property to send that message "if it's that bad outside, what will the inside be like." First impression? Don't want to go in." Good neighbor, nope.

Glad you've got those people I spoke to today, they deserve a thank you from top to bottom management, those 3 gave your company a second chance to make a good...

The best part is the sales and the prices. The worst. CHECK OUT! Usually there are maybe 2 lines with cashiers open 3/4 people deep with full carts. So you are either forced to wait or use self check out. That would be fine if the self check out lanes had good scanners. But they are awful! Give me one of the ones used by the other cashiers and it would be fine. The scanners don't catch the bar codes quickly at all and there is a huge delay between scanning items. If you have a bunch of the same item you have the scan each item individually. The self check out monitor can't help either. It's fine if you are not in a hurry but add little kids to the mix and it's enough to make you want to go to big Y where they have a bunch of nice pleasant cashiers and no self checkout. If the line get longer than 2/3 people they...
