The first time I came here it was with a friend and I was charmed with both the store itself, and the coffee was delicious. Everyone was friendly.

Since, I’ve come back on my own twice. Both times they were rude to me. The first time I was absently standing with my card waiting to pay and she handed me my drink. I said thank you and turned to leave and she VERY rudely said “aren’t you going to need to pay??” I was embarrassed and said oh my goodness yes sorry about that. I let it go because technically it was my fault but of course it was clear I’d had every intention of paying and her tone was uncalled for.

The second time was today, Mother’s Day. I decided to treat myself and I went in and said “I’d like a grande mocha please.” She rolled her eyes and very impatiently said “WE ARE NOT STARBUCKS! We are NOT Starbucks” (twice). I’d just gone to Starbucks the day before, it was a slip of the lip. Again, very rude. I am a person of color and assume that that may have something to do with why they are always rude to me, unfriendly, and dismissive, almost mocking. LOVE this place! I have been now several times with different friends and it’s always the same- amazing! Not only have the drinks been amazing but the one girl who is always there when I’m there is a doll (Griffin??)! Always so pleasant- not overbearing- good humor and knows her stuff! The cakes we have each tried are incredible, too. I have a gotten a hoodie, earrings, candles and smell good body stuff from here. One of my friends got a game that we all played one night that was hilarious! Another friend has gotten house decor. This place is like a mix of Cracker Barrel and Spencer’s in a coffee shop. I do want to add after reading one of the reviews, never felt any bias attitudes. And I’ve had several folks go alone that were of color. I kinda was hesitant to even go just because I wasn’t too sure on the atmosphere, but this was months ago and I’ve now sent MANY friends and I’ve continued to go as well. Can’t wait to try next months flavor...

Wait …… did I mention the abundance of inventory? 😂 Feel confident my Christmas shopping will ALL be handled at Cattywampus this year!!!
