I had tired of all the emails that Replacements had been sending me, almost daily, for months. Until today! They actually emailed me today to let me know that they found a piece that I needed to complete my collection of Russel Wright dinnerware. Yes, this is emotional for me. My parents got this dinnerware as a wedding gift in 1950; they never used it. Recognizing its utilitarian beauty they stored it in a special cabinet. As a child I had always admired the collection and often snuck into the cabinet to handle the pieces in the collection. On one such visit when I was about 10 years old, I was admiring a salad bowl with a lid. The lid fell off and not only broke, but landed on the pepper shaker and broke that too! Shortly after moving to Atlanta in 2007 at a visit to the High Museum of Art, what did I see but the EXACT pitcher that was in my parents' collection on display as a representation of utilitarian art! When my parents passed away a few years later there was only one thing that I wanted...that collection! Thankfully my siblings had no dispute with me on that selection! There were so many other more "beautiful" things that were left for us to split up. But not to me. Once I had the collection in my possession I started searching for the missing pepper shaker and that is how I discovered Replacements. Not only did they have the replacement piece, but they even took the time to reach out to me to confirm that I needed the Pepper shaker (with larger holes) and not the Salt shaker. On a visit up north I stopped to visit Replacement in NC and brought along my lid-less salad bowl. When I asked them if it was even possible that they could find a replacement lid; and even if they did, would it only be available as a set with the bowl. I think they said something like, "We are Replacements, anything is possible!" Well, today I ordered my lid! Thank you Replacements! My salad bowl with the missing lid (on the right) and I are waiting in anticipation for the lid's arrival so they can finally be reunited after 55 years!

I am trying to downsize for an eventual move. I have tried to sell my china before online and at garage sales without success. I found this company and started entering patterns. Fair warning - I spent a month taking pictures and submitting requests to sell. I scheduled an appointment to come in person because it seemed like it would be an adventure. The offers I received are only good for 30 days, so I requested reoffers, printed them out and packed my items up. I drove 6 hours with 135 items of china, crystal, silver-plate, giftware, and baskets. Once inside the warehouse, there were several options for us while we waited for our items to be looked at: to sit, get refreshments, shop, and tour, or even leave and go get lunch. Their sales area is absolutely entertaining. I spent almost thee whole hour and a half looking in showcases (see pics below). We were caught walking back toward the lounge and told they were ready for us. Every piece was reviewed with us as to whether they were taking, not taking and why, and price. Shocker - no all my items were in pristine condition. Some the offered less than full price. Fine with me. In the end I walked out with a nice chunk of change for items I rarely or never used and don't want to pack up again. Everyone was very nice and patient with me via email and on the phone while I was submitting requests and getting things ready to come. When I arrived I was greeted and treated so well the entire time. Did they pay me what I could get on eBay or if I toted these items around to junk markets? Heck no. I've already tried selling them unsuccessfully. Now, I'm happily rid of the responsibility and happy someone else will eventually get to enjoy the items. I recommend this process to everyone. However, if you want $100 for a place setting keep trying eBay. That's not how this process works for most things you'll want to sell. I will warn you though, once you start submitting items for sale you'll find it hard to stop.

Truly awful company that could not care less what it sells. I purchased a piece of Denby Imperial Blue from them online. I have owned this particular range since it came out in both the UK and the US and in the past 30 years have purchased all pieces in the collection. Naturally, with the decades and pieces there are slight changes in the glaze and coloration, but nothing extreme. I purchased a dish online from Replacements.com to replace a broken item. I knew it was not in excellent condition when I bought it - that would not be a problem so interior crazing and scratches to the interior of the white dish wouldn't be an issue. But what they sent me was absolutely NOT Imperial Blue. It was cottage blue. The item was without any glaze at all, had no brown at the edge (which Imperial Blue has ALWAYS had in every generation of its make) and was entirely different to any Imperial Blue that has been produced over the past 30+ years. In fact, I have 7 of the exact same item in my cupboards now and could quite happily show this company what the range DOES look like! When I explained that the piece they sent was not actually Imperial Blue I received a generic email suggesting that I purchased a less than excellent piece and that explained the difference! They also said that to have a refund for this item - I needed to mail the piece back WITH THE SUPPLIER OF THEIR CHOICE otherwise it would not be accepted and I would not be refunded the shipping charge. To me that is insane. They sold me a piece that is absolutely NOT the range they advertised and then blamed me! They will not refund me for shipping back the wrong item they sold and won't support a customer who knows this range intimately for many decades. I could give them a video tour of the Imperial Blue pieces (in the hundreds) that I own and it wouldn't make a difference. These people either do not actually know what the products and brands they sell SHOULD look like - or they couldn't care less what they sell to the US consumer. If you know Imperial Blue from Denby - don't trust what they claim they sell to you as they don't know the real product. This has to be a scam operation run by idiots who look to make a buck out of people who won't hold them...

I have a Naritake china set (70 pieces) I inherited from my mother. It’s a beautiful old pattern (purchased about 80 years ago. I am interested in selling this pattern with an estimated retail value of about $1,500.00. There is a place that specializes in selling old patterns of china in North Carolina, and since I live in and am from North Carolina, I am somewhat familiar with this business, and have even shopped there in the past.

So, I contacted them to see if they were interested in buying my china. I called, and they sounded interested. They requested that I send them the brand and pattern information. I did, and they promised to send me a list of the pieces and what they would offer for each piece.

I thought, trying to be realistic, that I’d be lucky to get 50% of the retail price and would accept 40% or even 30% of the retail price.

When I got their pattern list, they would only accept about ½ of the pieces and then give me, by my estimate, ⅛th of the retail price. According to my figures they offered me a total of $92 dollars for 39 pieces giving me about $2.36 average for each piece, and when I called them back, they informed me that I would have to pay the shipping also.

I told them that at that offer, I could easily lose money selling my china to them, and that I was not going to do that. I told them that I would through the china in the trash before I would sell it to them, and asked how they could deal like this with a straight face.

If they sold this china, I’m confident they would ask far more than $2.36 per piece and still not pay for the shipping.

So, if buying or selling china, don’t wast your time and replace Replacements Limited with other companies or ebay. If you gave your china to charity, and took a tax deduction, you would come out as good or better that dealing with this bunch. And if you are going to donate, donate to a bonafide charity instead of this bunch by giving them your china.

One final thing, this place does not even...
