I flew into Appleton airport today, probably only the 4th time I’ve been at this airport and I will do my best to never to fly into it again. The chaos of the airport has nothing to do with this review, construction happens. It’s the ignorant staff that triggered me. I’m not saying all the staff are bad but when you come across the most obnoxious, vile woman you’ve seen in forever and none of the airlines want to claim her, then it becomes an airport issue. Again in fairness, issue (1) started as an issue with American Airlines that could’ve been easily resolved. Instead it lead to issue (2) which could’ve easily been avoided had the middle aged, arrogant, 40 something narcissist with a chip on her shoulder checked her unprovoked attitude. Her ignorant attitude led to issue (3) and this one was directly related to the so called manager representing American Airlines. The smugness of this arrogant creep triggered me even more than the ignorant woman who walked by AS ticket counter only because he was wearing a vest that identified him as an “American Airlines Manager” in big bold yellow letters. I figured approaching him would bring a quick resolution to the issue I was having and at minimum provide a point of contact for the other two women seeking help at the AA ticket counter. Nope, that arrogant narcissist just made it so I’d never fly AA again! My issue was over my luggage being destroyed and wanting to speak to someone. Totally calm and collected until the encounter with the vile woman with the attitude who walked by the ticket counter and entered the back room. Once slightly triggered I sought out someone with more authority and that’s when I became really triggered. I guess interrupting his social time didn’t sit well and he quickly attempted to brush me off by telling me someone would be at the counter soon, just continue to wait. By this time I was more irritated by the treatment the two women who missed their flight were receiving and I could care a less about my luggage. I hate being dismissed and I hate it even more when it’s done by someone who is in a managerial position. Like how dare you! I ended up saying my peace and stating I didn’t care about my brand new luggage being destroyed, dealing with American Airlines was not worth the couple hundred dollars it would take to replace it on my own. These type of people representing their airline is what leads to passenger abuse. Maybe the first woman wasn’t an employee of AA but if not why did she get all bent out of shape over us standing at the counter? Mr.Manager however was definitely a representative of AA because it was written all over his vest in neon letters. He alone is reason enough to avoid this airline at all costs and American Airlines should be embarrassed at how this individual treats their customers. We arrived from North Carolina and this all transpired at approximately 3:00PM on 10-14-2025. Appleton Airport also holds some accountability because clearly they allow the staff from the airlines to treat people however they choose with no recourse. I intend to find out the names of these individuals and pursue a formal complaint, which I will make public, in an effort to warn other travelers who may be considering...
Read moreThree stars solely for all the other staff besides the blonde working this morning at the American Airlines check in. I did online check in for boarding pass prior to arriving, but I had to check a bag & pay for. Arrived approx hour early, went to ATW Express to do bag check. Gentleman was doing his very best but having issues with the payment processing (one of those square devices that plug into phone) this caused about 23 min delay. He then directed me to the American Airlines check-in desk. Upon arriving there, the woman was helping another guest, so I waited patiently. In that time a different guest (that come to find out was supposed to be on the same flight as me) attempted to check in, after also being directed to this desk. The check in lady stopped helping the guest in front of her to YELL (for all guests checking in AT ALL AIRLINES and probably those already at their gates as well to hear) to that customer that she was LATE and they would have to rebook her. I felt so bad for this woman as she was flying with young children and I'm sure was already stressed. If you're reading this, I hope you made your trip and enjoyed it ♡ I politely took a moment to tell her I was all checked in, I was just having trouble getting my bag checked. She proceeded to YELL (again for all to hear) that she couldn't help me, I was late and to take my bag to the gate. I tried explaining I was already checked in over 35 min ago, it was just the checked bag. She interrupted me to tell me she couldn't help me (basically to F off) so I went to security to proceed. I explained my situation (in tears) to the security attendant and she was SO SWEET and calmed me down. Thank goodness for her. I wasn't cruel or rude to the young man at ATW express check in that delayed me, I knew he was doing his best, and technological issues were not his fault; I wish that same courtesy would have been passed to me with even a minimum level of understanding. To the late middle age, blonde lady at the American Airlines check in desk at approx 4:50am on 2/22/24...work on your people skills or get a different job.. also, that shade of lipstick isn't...
Read moreOkay so this happened to me back in 2023 but it still upsets me so I’m making this review. Basically I had a flight to London and had a stop at Chicago. I found out that I didn’t have anyone to take me the next day when I was supposed to go to Atw. My friends mother was going to the Chicago airport the day prior to my flight so I thought I could go straight to ORD. Just to make sure me and my friends mother went to Atw the day prior right before we left to Chicago. We walked up to an American Airlines desk and told her about my situation and she TOLD US that we could go straight from ORD to LHR and even gave me my boarding pass! Come to find out when I get to ORD and I’m at my gate my flight doesn’t exist before I didn’t go on my Appleton flight! So then I go to customer service and they told me I would have to pay $1,700 for a new ticket!!! I WOULDNT HAVE GONE IF I KNEW IT WASNT ALLOWED! If I knew I couldn’t I would’ve gotten an uber but my thought process at the time was being able to just go from Chicago to LHR and thought it would be fun to go with my friends mother to Chicago as well as easier so just to make sure we could do that we asked but got false information! I’m still so upset still and I won’t get over this. I was only 18 at the time and trusted the people at Atw but that ending up losing me $1,700 plus the $900 I had spent on my original ticket. I still have the screenshots to prove what happened and my boarding passes. I even have a google document I wrote of the whole story with everything that happened. I hope I’ll be able to get a refund which deep down I know will...
