Had a great time. We got in once the gate opened at 630. You drive through the gate and are greeted at the box office where you pay for your tickets. There, you will be asked which movie/s you want to see. You are given a menu and told which field/screen to go to as well as the frequency to tune your radio to. If you forget the frequency info, it's on the bottom of the menu you received at the box office.
They were ready to make food as soon as we got there. The tea and lemonade was free to refill and soda was a dollar for refills. The food was great.
We parked our car in front of screen 3. Pull up so your vehicle sits on an incline for better viewing. Turn your mirrors out to keep from being flashed by others pulling in. If you have trouble the staff is very friendly and helpful. They clearly want people to have a great time.
They cleverly placed a play set beneath the screen they use for kids movies and it is the one closest to the concessions. There is ample covered seating around the concession stand and the bathrooms are attached there. If you have a restless baby they even have a cushioned rocking chair still facing the screen.
Need a jump? We did.. turns out they keep a jump box handy.
They clearly put a lot of effort into making this a good experience.
I saw a variety of people there which is very encouraging. I'm glad to see it's not just geared to a select group. They are welcoming here and you can stay in your car the whole time if you want so even if your the type who is anxious around others.. you'll be fine here.
Here's my only suggestion to the owners: consider a way to join your concessions with the property line that runs along the road so that people can pull in from the road to enjoy the food without taking the time for a movie. Maybe offer a discounted price on food for those folks. Just thought that may help keep things going.
I hope to see this place continue to be available for this community. I hope we can all do our part to take care of it, not trash it and make others feel welcome by being respectful of others who are there to enjoy the...
Read moreNice facility but Screen 2 had thick yellow lines alternating through the picture. I'd driven 2.5 hours from Charlotte to see "Tenet" and was pretty disappointed. Stayed the whole movie because I'd already invested so much time to be there. After the movie I spoke with management and was given a pass to return for free. That's a nice gesture, but I'm unlikely to do so given the travel involved, as I explained. This was a special circumstance given the pandemic, the fact that the movie isn't playing at North Carolina drive-ins, and that indoor movie theaters are unsafe to attend at this time. I asked for my money back but they wouldn't do it because I'd stayed for the whole movie, despite explaining the circumstances. I wasn't going to drive a total of five hours to bail on the movie right as it started. The gentlemen explained that the projector was damaged recently by a power surge, saying it had happened as recently as a couple of days earlier. Looking now, there's reviews that mention this issue that are two months old. So, 1) I was lied to, 2) the circumstances of my travel fell on deaf ears, 3) and they continue to show movies in this sub-par presentation without giving any warning at the gate, on their website, or before the movie starts. They knew this was a problem and let patrons spend their time and money to experience it anyway. It's a shameful way to show a movie, but I guess they figure most people won't care, which is insulting. If you're going to go, make sure what you're seeing isn't on Screen 2. You'll be presented with a picture that no other self-respecting movie venue...
Read moreWow, just wow. We went 25 minutes prior to the movie and waiting in line for 30 to be told we can’t have a radio because we don’t have a license for them (I forgot it at home by mistake and drove an hour there, so clearly unable to go grab it). I offer my credit card, a cash hold, our KEYS to our car and they absolutely would not take anything but a license. This is after two times in line mind you. We say screw it and run the risk of our battery running out and use the car radio. I’d like to emphasize we are not regulars here. We finished our first movie, then proceeded to the next screen to see the second movie. Fun fact: they also advertise with a GIANT SIGN outside of their place and on their website “Two movies for the price of one!” We see cones blocking the entrance to the screen and were confused so we lapped to the outside thinking they wanted a certain flow of traffic? I have no idea. A grown man starts waving us down on a bike and tells us that we tried to steal from him and we need to go home? So we pulled to the front and I let him know we have no issue with paying, that was just a super aggressive approach. He rolled his eyes several times and told me “you pay per movie that’s how it works.” That’s fine, but don’t advertise otherwise and then act accusatory and throw out people instead of explaining their system. Honestly another sad display of something that’s has a lot of potential to share joy but I guess the Lord doesn’t alleviate...
