This store is under new management and they have made some really nice improvements for the most part. The prices have gone up slightly and I try to buy fresh produce at the little local farmers if possible but this place has really improved the whole setup. There is now a nice bakery/pizza/cooked food section where you can purchase some food and eat it there at the tables if desired. They also have a lot of bulk stuff that you can get a savings. But I do wish they would still carry the 1 dollar flip flops and the 5 dollar shirts( surprisingly very well stitched with extra buttons provided). Those are helpful to the locals and I see they have quit carrying the shirts and have only a few flippies anymore:( If you catch their fresh produce on the day they stock it you will be happier, it seems that some of the fresh stuff goes bad quickly. I dont know if it is just because of the heat of the island or poor supply? overall a nice store and definetely cheaper than pueblo overall. But if you want fish better get it from a local fisherman, dont get the fish here. The other meat is ok to get but not the fish (except...
Read moreWe encountered a very stressful exchange with a woman manager there today. Her approach was provocative. She was trying to discredit our service dogs. After I told her what task our dog perform she was still undermining our service dogs. I told her we never encountered this kind of interaction in America. She said this is not America. I thought this is US virgin island??? According to ADA, PSA is a service dog even though we are not in a wheelchair. May be she didn’t understand. However the other male manager was very nice. I liked his approach better. We left our service dogs in the car at the end avoid any confrontation with that woman. But she still tried to educate me on service dogs She certainly has a minimum understanding and biases against disability people. Her main concern was other people may not like dogs in the store. I certainly understand that. I will not bring our service dogs to this store anymore. Otherwise, the supermarket has everything. It’s a good...
Read moreWe are traveling full time and it is usually on an island. We are used to the laid back island attitude and friendliness of the locals. We visited this store and were impressed by the large selection of produce and meats plus the bulk item aisles. Thanksgiving is next week and there is a huge selection of turkeys in all sizes. The prices are very reasonable for being on an island as well. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is cashier identified as (checker #903) on our receipt. In all my years on this planet and all of the places I have shopped around the world, I have never seen such rude behavior towards a customer. We greeted her and she did not. When she handed us the receipt she made a point of looking away from us and my husband said "thank you" and she ignored him. She is definitely not an asset to this...
