I had a great time soaking in the hot mineral springs. The price is great, especially for the morning and evening soaks. The staff is friendly and informative. If you need a towel or a lock for your locker, you can purchase them. They have a couple vending machines for drinks and snacks. They offer massages. This is a very low key, no frills hot springs pool. Bathing suits are required. The water does make your skin and hair feel soft and silky. My sore muscles were relaxed, when I left. The water does have a little of the mineral sulfur in it; so there is the slight, "Sulfur," smell. Don't let that turn you off. They keep the water at about 104°. If you like the warmer water stay near where the water comes into the springs pool. I prefer slightly cooler water; so, I stayed at the far end. I will definitely return when I'm in the area. One of the questions asked was, "Do they have a cold plunge pool? If you are looking for the standard 5'x5' (40°-50°) plunge pool, no, they don't. The swimming pool is heated to 89°. It is a normal, chlorinated pool, but the chemical treatment is perfectly balanced, and you don't smell the chlorine. ***Someone on Google said that they are open until 10:00 p.m. This is incorrect. I confirmed it with the staff. They are only open until 9:00 p.m.

Nice hot springs that' s been open forever! I've been coming here since the 70's and my grandfather used to come here from the 1930's to the 1970's ! Established in 1907, this hot springs has a nice clean single hot pool about 2' deep. You will sit with other folks and though there is some conversation going on, it's done fairly quietly and respectfully most times, obviously you'll get some louder people so expect that on occasion. There is also a nice large comfortable temp swimming pool with a slide and area for kids, with chairs and tables to sit and relax. We went on a weekday from 12-4 and there wasn't a lot of people. Weekends are especially busy at times. There are campsites and some small cabin rentals here also. There is a large grassy area in front of building for picnicking as you can come and go as long as you have wrist band on. No food served here, with vending machines for drinks. You can bring in your own water and munchies if you want. There is what they call an early session that goes from 7am-12 noon for 18$ which is nice also.

The soaking tub and pool were enjoyable but it was certainly disappointing that the waterslides weren’t open, especially since the surrounding area water parks are open. I’m not sure if this was covid related or staffing. My 6 year old was told by a lifeguard that she couldn’t swim outside of the shallow end and when I asked why, he said it was because she couldn’t swim. We don’t know this man or have ever had an interaction with him and he certainly did not know that my child is a strong independent swimmer, so I was surprised he’d make that rule for her. After questioning it and letting him know, and then showing him she could swim, his behavior in hawk eyes was so off-putting, my daughter had little interest in staying in the pool. If you’re thinking of going with young children, their only current option is to swim and that’s if lessons aren’t going. I can see that in non-Covid years or with additional staff, this could be more enjoyable and though it’s affordable and in a great location, it was lackluster and our experience was unfortunate.

I love Avila Hot Springs I’ve been going out there since 2013 my 33rd birthday. My parents brought me there and got me a 16 minute massage by the very professional masseuse, massaging! Very relaxing & tranquil

The staff is amazing I love the atmosphere the quietness, I like being able to share the area with other locals talk communicate or be quiet and just enjoy the comfort of the warm water and soothing sensation over your body.

If you get too hot, you can dip yourself into the mineral water/chlorine pool which is very relaxing and refreshing. They also have a place for the kids. It’s not super big but there’s a slide and an area for the kids to play.

They have made some really great upgrades fixing the tile in the mineral Hot Springs, which is amazing!! They’re still making progress much needed upgrades that will prolong the quality for future guests to come!!

I have not stayed in any of the cabins so I do not know about that but, it’s not as bad as people may think if you’re able to go to the surrounding cities next to Avila Hot Springs, it’s very beneficial hotels in San Luis Obispo are very pricey & staying near the beach.

Very pricey, if you’re looking for a great weekend minus some of the perks of being in a hotel an enjoying the community & the landscapes & stores & the people you leave feeling like you had a great experience!!

Versus staying in a expensive hotel, paying an arm & a leg and you might not have that great of an experience! Think of all the money you can save, and all of the places you will see and experience!

Check this place out see for yourself it might not be your cup of tea that’s OK to each their own but I definitely recommend checking it out. Don’t judge until you try. You never know.!

The few negatives that they have are not having a area that serves food at the facility they have vending machines they do allow you to bring food into the area but you have to make sure you clean it up and take it out when you leave and some people leave the facility and come back sadly, there is no delivery out to that area so you have to prepare and make a plan about your food options!

Wear water shoes. The gravel in the parking lot is not fun to walk on and please before you get into either the hot mineral Springs or the pool mineral springs rinse yourself off before getting into the water. It helps keep bacteria and other things out of the pool and hot...

Good part first pool and hot tub is super nice, staff look like they enjoy each others company and are enthusiastic about their work. Bad: the sites are super tiny. the smell is astonishing and persistent. I also slipped and fell very hard hitting my head and elbow and the manager Marcus tried to trick me into putting my name and info on a totally false statement saying I was sprinting but I caught myself. He said it was from their perspective but no one was in the hallway; noone helped me up while I saw screaming from the pain on the ground. Later on Marcus ( in front of my partner and several customers) tried to cover himself first in case I had a serious injury. We were all pretty stunned. Next Pismo county police showed up and had a prolonged super awkward chat with us where they tried to grill my partner and I while revealing as little as possible and super obvious ly turning on his phone recorder (plain clothes) they later admitted to being police and left when they realised we were actually weary poor ass travelers looking for a brief respite.in that note 2/3 showers were closed and the open one had black stuff all over the floors and had pubic hair in the...
