The Big Screen — Local services in Guam

Overall, it was a great experience! First off, the AC is seriously cold—like, I loved it, but I did get chilly after a while, so definitely bring a sweater or blanket next time. The theater itself is really clean and spacious, with plenty of room to stretch out. It wasn’t packed at all, which was a huge bonus for me, especially with how cheap the tickets are.

The seats are decent, though they don’t recline like the ones at Regal. But honestly, I prefer this place over Regal. It feels more relaxed, and the prices are way more affordable. The one thing I didn’t care for was the national anthem playing right before the movie starts. I’m here to enjoy a film, not get reminded of the military, so that felt a bit off-putting.

Movie we watched had some French in it but the subtitles were cut off at the bottom of the screen so half the movie we were lost and couldn’t figure out what they were saying. I mentioned it to the staff but nothing was done. Popcorn was stale, and an employee left their kids to mess around at the back of the theater which was extremely distracting as they talked through half the movie and eventually started running around the back of the theater. For the price of admission, you cannot beat the price! New movies roll in about every 2 weeks or so. You can download the Guam MWR app to check movie times and when movies are coming. Very spacious. Food is available for purchase too (popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, candy, pizza) but nothing to extravagant. It is the base theater after all. Oh, and no outside food allowed. Kids 4 and under...
