POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I booked this flight to celebrate mine and my husband's anniversary. We were texted the evening before our flight being offered morning spots due to the heat forecasted. We declined and opted to keep our sunset spot.

Well, then 4 hours before our flight we were texted that our reservation had been cancelled due to "high winds and forecasted thunderstorms". The highest wind projected for our ride was 7 miles per hour and 0% chance thunderstorms.

Now I'm not pretending to know much about air ballooning but the radars I saw online can't be THAT far off.. also I feel like they should be watching the forecast until the very last minute and then cancel if the conditions are unsafe. These things shouldn't be canceled 4 hours in advance. The evening ended up being very calm and sunny. Seemed like a perfect evening for flying to me.

When I texted back I asked to please talk to a real person instead of texting. I was just asking for more info to understand why were being cancelled. Andy seemed annoyed that I was inquiring and seemed in a hurry to get out of the office. Didn't seem at all interested in educating his clients.

Our theories are that either #1 my hubby and I were the only ones scheduled and they didn't want to do a ride with just us or #2 they didn't want to fly on a hot day. Flight on 10/23/2018. Absolutely beautiful! As a local to the Galena area (and an adrenaline junkie) I have always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride. The entire process was super chill and went so smooth. We had a beautiful fall day with very low wind. The GOTF crew has the process down to a science and I truthfully felt so safe. Granted I love heights, but when you are thousands of feet in the air in a balloon it's natural to feel a little uncertain. I didn't at all! Not only has Andy been doing this his entire life, but his calm demeanor and funny personality adds another layer of security. Before taking off Andy explains the process of inflating the balloon and each step that goes into take off (along with the safety instructions). He makes sure his guests feel comfortable with each step (because it obviously is scary for some people). As a local I thought I would be able to pick out landmarks, but I realized how quickly I got turned around. Andy does a great job at pointing out landmarks, telling stories, and giving his passengers a sense of direction. Not once did I feel nervous or scared. We landed in a field about 5 miles away, crew came and picked us up and we went back to the resort. It was an awesome experience and I 100% recommend it to any of my family...
