Stopped here around 730am on our drive down to SC for a quick restroom break. The first thing we see after parking is overflowing trashcans along the sidewalks. In the women's bathroom some of the stalls had overflowing sanitary waste containers and while in the stall using the toilet I stopped counting after 27 pieces of hair on the floor. I would have taken a picture of the nastiness if I had taken my phone in. The amount of different colored and lengths of hair littered everywhere amongst the other filth on the floor was absolutely disgusting. That said, at least the sinks were decently cleaner than the floors. I question the Welcome that WV provides...
Read moreIm a diabetic and wasnin need of a sugar drink of somekind only to find out they no change available and in order to purchase a drink or snack u need to have a credit card . no cash is taken in machines. Thank goodness i was able to make it to the next exit. Luckily but i made it. While my sugar was only 47. I was lucky i did not end up passing out at the rest area. Who would make vending machines to except credit cards only. Wouldn't that be 1 of the top places to to put a card scanner to steal peoples card info. Not a good rest stop to stop at especially when could be a life or death situation. Very disappointed . and definitely wont recommend stopping...
Read moreAlways look forward to stopping here, especially on the southbound side of I-81. Super clean, serene picnic areas, great parking and picturesque. WV should be commended for their commitment to keeping this location an ongoing fine example of how they want to be perceived by the general public; an excellent gateway into the State of West Virginia! Edit: Oh yes, should you have firewood or charcoal onboard (hey this is WV!) feel free to fire up one of the grills and cook any cookables you may be traveling with, all located next to your picnic table of choice. Dosent get much better...
