I’ve driven through Halsey dozens of times heading back to Rushville from Lincoln, always passing by Sandhill Sutton’s Speed & Supply without stopping. This time, I pulled in because my son needed a quick diaper change—and I’m so glad I did. What an unexpected gem.

Not only was the store clean and well-stocked, but they had one of the nicest changing stations I’ve ever seen in a small-town shop. It was spotless, well-lit, and actually felt like it was set up with parents in mind. As any parent knows, finding a clean and comfortable spot to change a diaper on the road is rare, and this place nailed it.

Beyond that, the rest of the store was just as impressive. The bathroom was extremely clean, and the selection of items blew me away. They have tools, work gear, snacks, drinks, automotive supplies, and a bunch of other essentials you might need when passing through. It’s a well-organized, welcoming stop that clearly takes pride in its appearance and service.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and it’s obvious this place matters to the community. I walked in thinking it would be a quick stop and walked out wondering how I’d overlooked it for so long.

A great place with very friendly people. Convenient when out in the middle of the Sandhills and you need something small. Or even an awesome haircut!
