My partner and I decided to take a āchill dayā after hiking Chimney Tops 4th of July. Like yourself, I took to checking reviews to decide where to adventure to and came upon Still Hollow. My partner and I loaded up the pup, drove 45 minutes up the road from our campsite and found ourselves at what quickly became our favorite distillery. What makes a business succeed is quality of product. What makes a company thrive is connecting with the customer and providing quality products. From the moment we entered, we felt like friends showing up to hang out on a Saturday afternoon. The lady doing our tasting was very knowledgeable, and excited to share and explain. It was/is amazing at the level of integrity they put into their products-from growing their own grains, to procuring water for whiskey production from their own mountain spring, to locally sourcing key ingredients, to creating their own packaging, producing all labeling, handling their own marketing,ā¦.. they are hands on, showing pride, joy and knowledge in all they produce. I was especially grateful that the owner was not only willing but excited to show my partner around the property and explained so much about the business. We left with two bottles and a maple syrup. Choosing just two was a challenge, as there were SOOOOOO MANY we loved. š The cherry on topā¦.. we ran into one of our hiking friends as we were leaving!ā¦..6° of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot a whiskey/bourbon guy, but my travelling buddy this past vacation is and had stopped here previously so he took me along to check it out. Fascinating stop and an amazing little distillery out in the middle of nowhere with all locally sourced ingredients. Since we were the only ones there, we got a brief tour and were allowed to walk around and check the place out. I got to sample some of the syrup while my buddy got a pretty generous tasting session and we had a good chat with the older guy who was working there about everything from bourbon to skiing. Wound up buying some syrup because it was so good and can't wait to try it with some waffles at home!
Staff seems incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft and had tons of information on the local area, even told us about their spring out back and let us take some photos. Really fun little stop even if you aren't a drinker. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the bourbon soaked coffee beans because the person that made them went out of business. As a coffee enthusiast, I would have loved to have been able to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA must visit if you are in the area! I felt like we saw and tasted a hidden gem of pure West Virginia spirits and history. The drive to the site is beautiful, and the barn is so well done. The craftsmanship and quality of the spirits are too notch. The corn whiskey was the biggest surprise, such a smooth organic flavor. The gin was phenomenal as well. We could have easily purchase one of every bottle! They are unique in the way the approach the entire process, and we couldnāt have been more happy to support a family and company like theirs. These are the types of distillers that you feel good supporting. Local, heirloom grains and water right out of the mountain. Thank you Still Hollow for a really incredible experience and drink. We are looking forward to visiting and stocking up...
