Extremely Disappointing Experience! Poor management and inconsistent standards. This was hands down the worst golf course experience I’ve ever had. From start to finish, we were essentially shadowed by the course ranger (picture attached), who approached us four separate times accusing us of slow play, despite us doing everything we could to keep pace. We immediately allowed a single player behind us to play through. When asked, we also let a scramble group behind us pass… even though scramble formats typically understand there will be occasional waiting. Yes, we had 5 players (we paid for all 5) but to avoid slowing anyone down, only 3/4 of us played each hole. Two of our newer players only played two holes each total, again, to keep up the pace of play. We explained this to the ranger multiple times. He didn’t care. Instead, on the 8th hole, he told us that management wanted us to split up for the 9th hole. Of course we agreed but that made no sense and actually slowed us down more than our original system. The part that really highlighted the inconsistency: while we were being micromanaged for simply playing respectfully, we also witnessed a grown man screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs and throwing his club repeatedly. There were kids on the course, yet the ranger seemed completely unbothered by that behavior. In short, we did everything right, let others play through, limited how many of us were hitting, and prioritized pace of play. But we were still treated like a problem, while actual disruptive behavior went unchecked. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone who values respectful play and...

Golf here is great for the price, played here on many occasions. But the last time finished a little sour. Had a group of 8 of us. We played in 2 foursomes obviously, played a best ball scramble. Coming into the 18th hole, our 2 groups were close in score. Nobody behind us for atleast 2 holes, so we decided to group up for the last hole. As we were hitting to the green, mind you, playing best ball scramble, the ranger approaches us and jokes with us about grouping up as 8 guys. We told him, we were tied, and there wasn't anyone behind us. He laughed, watched us hit, then proceeded to the clubhouse. We all hit. Both groups had one guy hit on the green, we get the the green, and we both had less than a 8 ft putt. So we looked at each other and called it good for a birdie and called it for the round. As we approached the clubhouse, the ranger blew up at us, and started yelling at us about members calling in and complaining about us playing as a group of 8 ever since the 5th hole, and holding up play....we finished in under 4 hours for one, and also, we only played the last hole as a group, on which the ranger held us up longer than we had on any hole. He was very out of line yelling at us, lectured us on how we should know better, and be more respectful to the game. And the entire time he was yelling at us for 10 minutes, nobody came up 18s fairway...again I've played rush lake many times, never any issues, everyone has always been nice, but I can't say I'll be back after this experience with this ranger on...

Played 36 holes here for the first time last week and had a great time. "Hills" definitely describes this course. There's lots of elevation changes and challenges. This course is in good condition overall. Well maintained and groomed. The fairways were nice and the rough was trimmed but thick in places. The tee boxes were in good condition and for the most part flat. Some tee boxes may have been a little domed but not many. Pace of play was good for the amount of people on the course. Spoke with some of the grounds people and all were very friendly. The clubhouse was not at all what I expected. More of an older quonset hut building. Bar and pro-shop all in one. People behind the counter were polite and helpful. We finished our first round, checked in with the pro-shop and he sent us right back out ahead of our scheduled second tee time. Cart paths were all in decent shape. Some were paved and some were gravel but overall decent. There were some typical burnt spots up near some of the greens but nothing terrible or that caused issues with play. The greens were all in great shape and some were crazy with the elevation changes! Loved it! Overall a great course to play and experience. I am looking forward to heading back there again...
