I understand that DK’s has a section that’s reduced. Most of the items there are either halfway rotten or and they’re all expired. I used to find the store convenient and friendly. Not so much anymore since The store changed ownership a few years ago.I’ve been coming in the store ever since they opened and it has really gone downhill. The prices are ridiculous and they’re always trying to unload expired food probably because their prices are so high things sit on the shelf and expire. Today I bought some chocolate chip cookie dough off the shelf where there were about 20 rolls of cookie dough. I didn’t notice until I got home, but it said reduced and there was a sticker on it 2.85. I really don’t care how much it cost. I don’t want to eat expired food when I buy it at the grocery store. If they’re going to sell expired food, which I’m not even sure is right, they should label it in a designated Section of the store. I took it back and tried to talk to the person at the counter who is usually very friendly and acted annoyed that I would think about bringing back expired food. I said to her, don’t you think that they should have all expired food in one area so that people know that they’re buying food that’s expired or old? She totally ignored me and And acted like I was in the wrong for not wanting to buy Expired food. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but I can honestly say I will never go in the store again. In my opinion, they are price gouging, and they are selling expired food Totally different environment with the old owners...
Read moreThis place is awful. The whole place stinks and it lingers on you all day even if you only go inside for a minute. The floors are so filthy. Mold just openly growing. The owner “wont put a penny into anything for the store and only cares about money” according to the employees. Grocery shelves have not been cleaned in years, the employees will openly tell you that too. The store manager, however, insists these are cleaned every two weeks and takes it as a personal insult if called out. Well I find it personally insulting that you expect customers to buy overpriced product from dirty, moldy shelves. I mean anyone can walk in and openly see these things, you don’t have to look hard. They have a recycling dumpster out back and even collect recycling in separate bins, but at the end of the night just throw it all in the trash and the managers actually laugh about it. The carelessness, laziness, and delusion of many of the higher up workers here is extremely upsetting. I’d highly recommend driving a few extra minutes to go to Dierbergs...
Read moreThey are really known for the meat, but I like them for a lot more than that. Their deli is phenomenal (they have hush puppies, which is really unique). Their lunch platter is so good. I think their deli is a hidden gem, they have a good variety and it always tastes great. I can’t really express how good their lunch platter is (I got 2 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and a roll with butter for around $8). I also just like the small town grocery store feel and this store is 100% a small town grocery store. They also have a lot of random things. They have milk in glass containers that can be recycled and Walmart doesn’t even have that. I literally love the deli food so much and it is way better than any other deli. I would highly recommend any one in the area checking this place out and eating...
