I went to Luxury Nails for the first time recently to get a manicure and pedicure before going on vacation. I read good reviews about Bianca and Kenny so I requested one of them. My appt was scheduled with Kenny. When Kenny was doing my manicure he told me that he doesn't do pedicures. Okay, well I would have appreciated if I was told that while making my appt. The manicure was good for a basic manicure. You would think my pedicure would have been scheduled with someone I had requested like Bianca. Then Airy did my pedicure. She was very pleasant. I flinched when she did something to my left big toe. She asked if that hurt and I said yes so then she was more careful. Airy was very pleasant and nice to talk to. The problem is my left big toe was sore by the nail and got worse. 2 days later it was red, puffy and hurt. I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with paronychia infection. I was prescribed oral antibiotics and topical antibiotic for 7 days and to soak my toe in hot water. It felt better in 6 days but still red looking. I went to a podiatrist when returning from vacation. She said a piece of nail that can splinter when cut too far then causes an infection. She said that almost always the splinter will not grow out, infection will reoccur, and then I'll have to go back to the podiatrist and have the side of my nail cut off after a painful numbing injection. Podiatrist was surprised it wasn't hurting because it still looks red. She said in rare cases the nail can grow out on it's own but unlikely. If it starts hurting again they'll get me in right away to cut off the side of the side of the nail. I'm hoping I'll be the rare person that it grows out on its own. I just want the salon to be aware and provide more training to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I was not happy to have to deal with this during and...
Read moreI’ve been to this salon a few time, and i always hope my experience will change or get better. First, It’s disappointing to make appointments with certain techs and then when you show up they give you whoever is available. If you want a particular tech then you have to wait which defeats the purpose of their online appointments. My most recent experience was horrible. I made an appointment for a gel mani/pedi. When I checked in the girl gave me an attitude about wanting both a mani/pedi even though that’s what I made the appointment for. We did the pedicure first. She moved up the chair so close to her that it was uncomfortable. Also, you have the nerve to ask me if I want a deluxe pedicure but you don’t turn on the massage or pull down the arm rest for me? When I told her I was uncomfortable and moved the chair she kept moving it back. She placed the light on my polish constantly and then had the nerve to tell me that I was hitting the light with my toe nail as if it was my fault. Instead of repositioning my foot, she just kept repositioning my seat adjustment which was uncomfortable because I was scrunched to the top. And then $50 later she left nail polish on my skin which was...
Read moreWhat amazing service and people! Very very picky about my nails and Kevin did an amazing job at a price I felt was fair. The space is beautiful, the people who work there are personable and kind, you don’t feel like they’re trying to nickel and dime you, and really beautiful manicure. Kevin did a fill-in of my acrilics since I just moved here and I’m happy to say I found my permanent Hammonton nail salon! It’s so cute that they have a little girl princess chair - my daughter saw it and loved it. I promised her a kids mani pedi soon and I’m happy to say that the prices on that were also fair and not something unreasonable. The biggest plus? I came with my daughter to fix a nail quickly and they were so kind to her. I know it’s not the ideal situation but since it was one nail and I called ahead - they mentioned it was convenient to do it at the moment. No one made me feel awkward for having brought her with me since I’d just picked her up from school and instead were so kind and welcoming. I can’t wait to bring her for her own mani/pedi. Highly recommend 💯. Best nail salon in...
