I am a lifelong Kroger customer. I decided to make the switch to Meijer. But after my first shopping trip, I am done. No more Meijer. Never again Meijer. I spent $180. As I leave the checkout lane the lady behind me says. "Is this yours?" It was one of my bags the bagger failed to put in my cart. I take another step to leave the checkout and the lady behind me says, "I think these are yours too". 5 bags. 5 bags that the young lady bagging groceries left on the checkout lane. She bagged my groceries, did not even bother to out them in my cart, and walked away to get a drink. I was fuming. But it gets worse. I get home, put groceries away, a couple hours later as I am in the middle of cooking dinner, I go to grab the mini potatoes and baby carrots and I didn't have them. I think the lady behind me got them. My Sunday dinner was ruined! All because of incompetence. I know bagging groceries is not rocket science, but train your peoole to do the job! Train them to finish the job before moving on to something else! I called the store and the manager gave me a refund and a few extra dollars for inconvenience. But this was my first, AND LAST, trip to Meijer. As expensive as things are, to not even care that your customers are getting what they paid for, is really shitty. The only reason I haven't made this a 1 star review is because the manager took care of my refund...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI use to love shopping at meijer but now I can't afford it. Everything is triple to quadruple the prices. Vitamins that a year ago were 6 or 7 dollars are now 25 plus.. lunch meat went from 5 to 6 to over 10 dollars. Laundry soap that was 6 to 7 is now almost 20 dollars. It's insane with how much it costs. People can't afford it and the wages aren't going to help with the increase of the cost of living. And now that we have toll bridges starting soon. Wow is all I have to say. The greed is definitely real when it comes to big businesses taking advantage of people and the communities... Instead of caring about the communities and economy they continue to raises prices.. bet the big wigs have all their fancy things, houses, cars, yachts, and they don't have to worry about what there going to get at the store this week and only buy what 100 can get them which anymore is pretty slim.. i mean theyre only billionaires after all... Its pretty sad to where this world is going and how greedy it's become. I really hope that someone can actually put a stop to the big businesses taking advantage of the communities and force them to make things affordable for people.. But I doubt that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love this store in Essexville It is so cute and I can find everything I need in there and one of the things that I get here that I can't get anywhere else, is, creamy feta. The other thing that I get here are candies from England and some cookies from Germany, the Meijer has a world food aisle although it keeps shrinking for some reason which makes me very sad sometimes considering what they used to sell and those aisles, but anyway it's still a good place to get my Barry's tea and caramel bits. They have sushi here and a wonderful desserts area where they have cakes and cookies but one of my favorite things to get since I like to make cakes all the time and not necessarily frosting is they sell frosting and what I do is I buy it and then I freeze it and then just take it out when I need it for a cake because there are frosting is delicious. The fried chicken is really good as well as their rotisserie chickens and their bulk carrots are just huge and the radishes are equally huge in the bulk section. The vegetables are in good condition and so are the tomatoes, however sometimes the Roma tomatoes can be too small for what I...
