Auto Care Solutions — Local services in Hampton

My check engine light came on in Hastings. I went to O’Reilly to get a engine code checked. Was told by a new employee they couldn’t scan the car. which turned into a lie. I headed home to Hampton and asked auto care solutions if they had a special scan tool read the code. Which O’Reilly said I would need. Found out it was just a standard scan tool. Auto care solutions said they had a scan tool and he went straight out side with nothing else said and scanned the vehicle and told me it was a misfire. I explained to him about O’Reilly and told him I have a scan tool at home but was told it wouldn’t work with a standard scan tool. Which is the same scan tool I have at home. Then out of no where he said that would be $50. For 2 mins of his time. With no explanation on anything about the problem. No receipts, no print out on code or didn’t even write it down. To make the situation worse it seemed like they pocketed the money cause they were asking each other for change for $60 I gave them, so they both went into their wallets and made change. I asked him are you pocketing this money cause why wouldn’t you have change. He told me they don’t have access to the register. Which came off as a reg flag. This whole experience was a rip off and a waste of time. This is why I don’t bring my car into shops and work on these issues my self , but was told I needed a special tool for no reason. When Jed is available things seem to run smooth with no issues, but lately he’s not in and these kids that are working made my experience to never come back and to find a new shop. I don’t hold high expectations for shops but auto care solutions I felt like I could trust when I need some help now that relationships is severed. What a waste of...

These are great people! I own a handful of auto repair shops in the Twin Cities area and have recently came down with a brain tumor. My wife was coming down to visit me at the Mayo Clinic and happened to have a car problem along the way right by their shop. Not only did they treat her with world class care they resolved the issue quickly, efficiently, and even refused to take any monetary compensation for what they did knowing what situation we were in. If you are lucky enough to live near this shop or happen to need any car repair work while passing through these are the guys for the job and from someone else in the industry, they know what they are doing, and they are kind and compassionate. I can’t say thank you enough for helping me and my wife out last week. We will never forget the level of care that you gave us. Thank you again for being the kind of guys...

Always did a wonderful job. Jobs were completed in a timely manner. Brought my car in with all the dash lights on on my vehicle. Had brought it to 2 other shops for them to diagnose and fix said problem.
