I can not speak more highly of a funeral home or individual. Penny was available late in the evening to assist and guide our family through the process that would take place after our beloved family member passed. During this traumatic and devastating experience, she was able to assist us in picking out all of the appropriate items for our loved ones funeral in a timely, unrushed manner. she did not âpushâ items on us nor try to âsell usâ on what she preferred, instead she assisted our family in understanding the differences between caskets, services, etc. Penny assisted in writing the obituary, obtaining the priest, and had all of the flowers that were purchased and sent set up beautifully. The walk ways were paved and salted to accommodate family members in wheelchairs. She was patient and accommodating when a winter storm postponed arrival of family for the pre-funeral planning. Our family has been using Herrmann Funeral home for many years now and we are beyond satisfied with the services they have and continue to provide. I would recommend Herrmann Funeral Home to any individual who is looking for a kind, compassionate and caring Funeral Home to take care of...
Read moreOur mother and her family have used this funeral home in the past for other family members, as itâs changed hands of ownership a couple times over the decades. While Penny did a good job of making our mother look like herself and as if she was sleeping (the goal), during the meeting to make the arrangements, she lacked customer service skills and never asked us about flowers, pallbearers, or took any time to describe a summary of how the service would commence. The website wasnât working properly many times over, as people had a difficult time posting any memory comments on our momâs obituary page. Penny also spelled our motherâs middle name wrong in the online obituary, and the other woman who was helping attend the service was cold and made us feel as though the entire service had to be done in a hasty manner-I personally felt rushed. I also felt rushed at the gravesite, as if we really werenât going to be given much of any time to say a final goodbye if anyone wanted it. Overall, this business could use some work on the various areas of running a business that deals in helping families and loved ones deal with profound loss and grief during a difficult time....
Read moreMy family has been using this funeral home since I was a child. When my mother passed, I decided to stay with the tradition. Since then, it has changed hands two times. Penny Herrmann (the current owner) is in the wrong business. The first time I spoke to her, there was no compassion and her demeanor made me feel like I was bothering her. We met face to face the next day to make arrangements for my mother. Penny was unprofessionally dressed in jeans! Penny never mentioned flowers, pallbearers, and or how the service would be laid out. She told me I needed to write the obituary! Thatâs what we pay them for, right? I emailed Penny my obituary that same night as instructed by her. By 1:30 the next day, still no obituary on the website and the funeral was the next day! I needed the link to post on social media for family and friends. Penny claimed she never received the email which was a lie. I CCâd my sister on the email and she got it! Very unprofessional! I would NOT recommend Herrmann Funeral Home for any services. Itâs all about the money! We had a gravesite service due to money restrictions and was still charged over $9000. A real disappointment...
