Third time I've visited over the years! Definitely worth the drive even if you are coming in from out of state! My family and I drove from KC.
When people ask me "aren't there a dozen other fireworks superstores/megastores in the U.S.?" I confirm, yes, but this one is LITERALLY the largest. You could spend hours if not a single day browsing the massive inventory. There is truly a type, color, effect and name of firework for everybody at this store.
The store is categorized by major category (sparklers in one section, fountains in another, artillery shells etc.). One detail I did discover this most recent trip which was never apparent to me before (no signage or explicit indication) is that each sectioned category of products is also sorted by brand throughout the isles. If you're like me and searching for a specific item, it could be helpful to add signage indicating which brand is stocked through a specific isle or corner of the store, just a suggestion.
The checkout process was fairly quick, obviously that depends on when you visit and what season. Despite going on the weekend before July 4th, we didn't wait in line for no longer than 10 minutes.
The product pricing is very competitive and certainly on the bottom end compared to traditional mom and pop tents...
Read moreTo anyone complaining about the prices here I would suggest come up to Wisconsin and check out some of the local tents we have. $240 for a 24 pack of shells. $300 for a single cake are common. I can drive to this place and buy a single item and drive back and still be saving money. The Fireworks Superstore has a simply phenomenal selection. They have Death shells, Master 100’s and many many more shell kits that I have never seen in person. Massive assortments that require 2 stout men to carry for around $800. A huge discount section! I never even heard of a discount section in a fireworks store. Back home the only discount you can get is after the fourth. Even then you better bring plenty of money. This place is home to an unbeatable selection, fun metal art and very good prices.
Edit 2024. I just stopped by one of my local firework tents in Wisconsin. $300 for Growler 24 pack. $400 for Quadzilla 24 pack. The people of Missouri don’t have the right to complain about prices and neither do I. Why complain when I can take a little road trip and save hundreds on a...
Read moreLiterally my favorite store. I've been lucky enough to visit twice and have been like a kid in a candy store each time. Watch out for the owner - he's evil and will point you to stuff you can't resist!
They have every brand I've heard of and then many more. Their artillery selection is second to none. They have almost every 500g cake on the market. They even have a discount section!! This isn't the kind of place that gives you "free" fireworks to make their crazy prices seem reasonable - you get a way better deal here, and won't need a gimmick to make the trip less painful.
The prices are great - look up Blackhawk pyrotechnics walkthru of the whole store, with prices! You'll see it's awesome!
Seriously if you're still reading this just plan a trip and go, but set a firm budget because this place...
