Had my sonâs 3rd birthday party here which was to include a hay ride and bonfire. Upon arrival we were instructed to our bonfire site, started to set up some food and snacks to find the owners dog helping himself to our chicken platter. Despite it being a friendly dog it approached a few of the children with an end result of knocking them over which resulted in their fear of the dog. This is when we approached the owners and asked if they could please contain their dog. The 20 or so adults sat around the fire while approximately 18 kids played within an eye sight distance of us (maybe 300 feet away). This is when a old lady (the owner) approached the kids and advised them to stop playing in her backyard. Therefore the kids came back âwithin the set bonfire ringâ which was not suitable for 40 guests (which they were informed there would be 50 guest) and eventually the kids started to play/run around which resulted in the owner approaching my wife and I to complain about the kids playing in her back yard. She had stated a bonfire (which was not even lit yet) was to sit around and talk and tell stories only..... I advised her that upon booking I stated it was for a 3 year old birthday party so if that was the case they should have told us upon booking that the kids are not allowed to get up and play! And who offers to host parties at a bonfire pit in their backyard if they are going to complain about guests utilizing their backyard! Anyways thatâs when we approached Martin Hozak (son of the old lady/owner) to discuss how his mom Has approached us twice within the past 20 minutes (which obviously puts a damper on your sonâs birthday party especially when you are trying to enjoy him and entertain your guests.. and we told him how the dog pretty much destroyed a 60 dollar chicken platter. And I can say is I have NEVER experienced such terrible customer service or attitude from someone who is running a business. My wife runs a business and will be sure to pass on their terrible attitude/customer service to all Her patients along as I to family and friends. Please avoid this place at all costs. All they care about is your $$$. And I agree the pumpkin patch is a sad sight... itâs like they had someone come in and just dump pumpkins on a field... if you do make a trip there keep an eye out for the old lady and...
Read moreVisited Hozak's Farms for a friend's son's third birthday party. It sounded like a neat idea to have a hayride and bonfire for a kids birthday. The owners knew ahead of time that a child's birthday was planned and indicated it wasn't a problem After only about 10 min the kids must have violated what was considered the accepted area we were to use for the fire and party. There was nothing indicating the area to stay out of but apparently you are expected to know that a bonfire at a farm means you have to stay within a 10 foot radius of the fire itself. We were instructed of this by a very hostile woman who identified herself as the owner. We received a lesson on the fact that at a bonfire you do nothing but sit and be quite. Not only was this woman incredibly rude to paying customers she couldn't keep her hands to herself as she kept grabbing people by the arm. The owner also felt it necessary to bring in some back up. Another one of the owners which apparently was her son or a relative came to yell at us with his chest puffed out like a bouncer at a night club. The level of hostility these people displayed was unacceptable. The fact that small children stepping a few feet further away from the designated "undesignated" area is why I would never consider returning especially with kids of any age. Nothing was touched or damaged in any way to warrant the reaction we received. Also after we were lectured on where we needed to stand a loose dog ran over and stuck his face in our food. I will avoid this place and recommend others...
Read moreHozack Farm has been a Christmas Tradition of ours since 2003. Today we went and the Frazier Furs were great, I found one in record time. Afterwards, my youngest wanted to ride the hayride. My oldest wanted to sit in the car. My husband took care of the tree - getting it shaken and roped. Somehow while my youngest and I were on the hayride my oldest and husband locked the keys in our car. In disbelief, I asked the parking attendant if he had anything to help. He said heâd speak to the ownerâŚ.About 15 mini later the owner came up on a 4x4 and laughed and said, âcall AAA.â Not even to us. He had no idea we were in earshot to witness his unpleasant reaction. No one came to tell us they had nothing to help. It wasnât cold, but it wasnât warm. My daughters and I walked down to the actual barn to get the free warm chocolate and over priced hot dogs. We were on their property for over 4 hours. No one ever inquired if someone was coming. No one offered my husband a warm drink. While my girls and I were walking along the twisty, narrow road, to the barn a Hozack neighbor offered us a ride to the barn. He gave us the most Christmas magic.
I donât anticipate weâll be returning next year. While beautifully grown trees are their specialty, compassion and customer service sure arenât...
