More like VanScammer than VanScoder unfortunately. Stayed there years ago and was a good experience. Since the new managers took over it is not the same. My mom and I planned a couple day stay for some needed quality time with my kids. Unfortunately the first night I had to go by ambulance to the hospital and found I had a kidney stone. After that terrible overnight experience, that morning, when we got back, I knew I couldn't stay with the pain. I contacted VanScoder to let him know and he said he would talk with his son and let us know. After that, kept the rest of our money, did not answer my calls or texts. Shame on you both!!!!!! I felt guilty enough even though it was unpredictable and then you top it off by showing my mom and kids a good lesson in lack of compassion.....have stayed other places since then and comparatively will never recommend your place. FOLLOW UP TO YOUR RESPONSE: Policy and rules? NO SIR....people are tired of that response trying to invalidate our experiences. It was an emergency, not some random problem. You did not need to keep that money. I am sure that you have enough for the property you live on (I have seen it online) and we barely used the cabin. Everything was left the way it was when we left the next morning! Secondly, you knew about my emergency after talking to you and then pleading by text, phone and even a letter from my attorney to help me out...........on my follow up, so don't decide to have an epiphany and care now that I posted my review. Your responses are only adding to the real problem after the fact. Again we have stayed in many cabins and cottages since then with no musty humidifier, expired food, etc. and with a much safer area and better management, inclusions and considerations. DO YOUR RESEARCH FRIENDS. You've worked too hard for your vacation and money to go through what we did. Let's stop the pattern.....take care and good...

Don’t know why I have never put a review on but myself and hubby have made this our home away from home for past 6 years we spend a week here love the owner Greg always pleasant conversation I feel like I know him personally even though we talk once a year I highly recommend this family owned cabin for a quiet getaway maybe 2 cars in a week and a couple horseback riders this cabin has all comforts of home literally take food and clothes and if you forgot something there is a pantry where you can probably find it (leave something) for next guests of all the places around area this is it book now and enjoy your...

I do not recommend this place. I booked for an anniversary getaway for my husband and I. I called, emailed on more than one occasion because I had to start chemotherapy and was too sick to leave home for a weekend. Noone ever returned any of my calls or emails. I was never refunded my deposit either. I was supposed to call to make arrangements and confirm the week before so the owner should have been expecting my call. I am only giving one star bc i couldn't post...
