I bought entry and event tickets online via the website for my family. We had been instructed to show the confirmation email at the gate and a security officer would take us to the ticket booth to pick everything up. The first gate we got to, the "gentleman" said he had never heard of such a thing, did not know what to tell me and said I'll have to figure out another way to get my tickets. I purposely pay to park close to the gate because things get difficult with an impatient 2 year old. So we were forced to walk down to the main gate. The "lady" at that gate wasn't much more help. But this time she allowed me to go in to pick up my tickets...as long as my wife and child waited away from the gate. My son has been potty training and wasn't allowed to go through to the bathroom and had an accident in the 35 minutes It took for the ticket booth to figure out their lines. This entire process was such a joke, I can't recommend preordering any tickets from the website. They charge an extra convenience fee of $5...making my entry more expensive than if I were to just make the purchase at the gate. This whole fair hasn't been great in the past with the small town politics and I can assure it hasn't made any improvements. Vendors selling decent products are getting scarce and vendors selling useless stolen junk are more predominant... Oh...and everything is...
Read moreFor fairs in NEPA, it’s the best. Has everything you’d want in a country fair. Good food, entertainment, displays, vendors, etc.
My gripe with it is the cost for tickets. Now maybe I’m cheap but 12 dollars at the gate is astronomical. If your kids are over 36”, hand over another 12 bucks per kid. Pre-sale are 8 bucks which is certainly better but is still expensive. So if you and your significant other want to go and walk around, it’s 16 or 24 dollars just to walk in the gate. If you and your significant other have 2 kids, on the cheap side is 32 dollars.
I’m sure they have their reasons and I understand things cost money but seems awfully steep to me. In my opinion, they need to separate the cost of rides vs general admission. Grandma and grandpa shouldn’t have to bear the cost of...
Read moreI was at the fairgrounds for the Pennsylvania Endless Mountains Fiber Festival with over 50 vendors. Every yarn color imaginable was here as well as some beautiful handmade items including pottery. Knitting, crocheting, weaving and felting were all very well represented. You could purchase home made yarn and also completed projects such as hats, shawls, scarves, animals, etc. These make great gifts! There were many beautiful felted hats that I fell in love with! Demonstrations included sheep shearing, natural fiber dying, and spinning yarn plus many more! There were Angora rabbits, sheep and llamas to see. This was a great Support Local event. Walking was level, parking was ample. Although I have yet to attend the Harford Fair, many of my friends say it's...
