Uncle Pete’s Community Market — Local services in Harpswell

I was sad to see the Ship to Shore store go, so this review is as unbiased as it gets. Uncle Pete's made something good into something great. It's so cozy in there, I go in for a grilled sandwich and I leave with a bag full of stuff. Btw they make the best sandwiches/pizza/food/everything else, too. Their grilled sandwiches are better than I could ever make them at home. It's just a great little store, and it always seems to have everything I need. Little treasures on every shelf. They even have fresh produce sometimes, and the devilled eggs are delish, I think they make them in the little kitchen. Chowders and soups, mostly seafood, very yum. I go to this store often, so I wanted to take a minute and leave this review. Really glad to have Uncle Pete's in our good...

This place lost its community feel when it changed hands. We’ve been by here during business hours and it’s been closed, also been charged more for goods than what the sticker price is. New owners seem fixed on capitalizing on gambling, liquor and tobacco. It was devastating to see almost all the local staff let go after the community had been assured the new owners would keep the staff, instead they hired their family from away. I also can’t stand the sexist pet names the new owner uses with me when I’m paying at the register. The soul has just gone out of this place and we can’t bring ourselves to go back....

Unless your a good old boys of harpswell this place is terrible customer service encouraging people to cut in line in front of you pay for their gas I'm waiting in line it's my turn they can wait in line behind me????nope!!! Greasy nasty food dirty store horrible service actually bought pre-made sandwich from the cooler to get back to work to find it was growing mold I would not...
