The food here is the same as other mexican restaurants, very good! Although unlike other restaurants in north carolina, this one is the most expensive by far. One bowl of menudo, or beef stew is $14 for a small bowl. This is the smallest bowl of stew than any other Mexican restaurants that I've ever been to. I paid $29 for a bowl of beef stew and 2 tacos. I left a two $2 tip, and the bill came out to a whopping $31 and some change. I thought there was a mistake and I asked the girl to check and it was correct. I couldn't believe it costed that much for one person to eat. I had to ask her to remove the tip because that's too expensive for one person for small bowl of menudo or soup and two tacos. That put me in a spot of embarrassed asking for my tip back. The girl checking me out seemed to be upset at my concern and and for asking for my tip back. She should not have got mad for me asking for my tip back. When she brought my tortillas to the table, i could tell she was upset the way she threw my tortillas down on the table and walked away. I thought about writing review, but I just let it go. It's their store, their prices I get it. I did go back again and ordered the menudo and the two tacos. That time I did pay the tip because I really am trying to be nice and generous. When prices are that high, do not expect a tip. I walked in today to get a soda. I purchased a bottled fanta and as I was walking out to my car, I realized that I had just paid $3.90 for a sixty nine ounce drink. They must be charging for the bottle. I walked back in the store and returned the drink. The lady seemed a little bothered that I returned it because of the price. They do not speak english here. I was trying to communicate with her, and she said she doesn't understand. Good thing I also am mexican and proceeded to speak in spanish. You will need a translator here if you do not speak spanish. The condition of our economy may have affected their prices. If you are rich, and can spend $31 on lunch every day, you will have no issues shopping or eating here as the food is great and their products are...
