The Goff Health Science Technology Building at Roane State Community College is outstanding. During our visit to George Meghabghab's lab, we learned a lot about the Principles of Information Assurance and was able to inspect the Marcraft line of products in action.

Took a mandatory parenting class at the Oak Ridge branch for a divorce, the instructor was very rude and was constantly trying to make political comments or push an agenda. She was also trying to force what seemed to be a "feminist" agenda on the men by referring to their former wives as "maids" and made other comments as if every male in the class was a wife, beating womanizer and how women post divorce let strangers into their lives that get with children and how men leaving the wife causes little children to become molested by preachers. She also made a few derogatory comments on President Trump, even stating how she would wish all of Washington DC would just blow up. Another instance I felt was unnecessary was when a gentleman did not wish to participate in the group "say out loud" activities she required us to do, she called out on him several times in an attempt to embarrass him or show her authority. She also tried to embarrass another by saying that him not remembering the answer to another activity was a defense mechanism in something they did not wish to reveal. I also remember another person in the class that had a dry cough, most were coughing because there are several colds going around, but she again tried to embarrass that person by asking why they were barking like a dog. I feel she was very unprofessional. For a state required class I felt she had no reason to push any sort of the information that did not pertain directly to how to improve raising your kids. Roane State was brought to my attention because they were the cheapest in the area but it appears as that cheaper is not always better for this, it does come at a cost, if you see another option somewhere, please...

I would not recommend attending Roane State Community College based on my personal experience after transferring here. From the very beginning, I encountered multiple issues with my original admissions representative, including being misled about how my transfer credits would apply and which courses I would need to graduate. This caused a lot of unnecessary confusion, delays, and frustration as I tried to plan my academic path.

On top of that, one of the instructors I had was extremely condescending, rude, and downright disrespectful. Asking a simple clarifying question about an assignment would result in being talked down to or made to feel incompetent, which is completely unacceptable in a learning environment.

If you’re considering Roane State for your educational journey, I would highly recommend looking at other options. My experience here has been disappointing and disheartening, and I believe there are better institutions out there that truly support their students both academically...

You couldn't pay me to go back there. I made the mistake of enrolling in their dental hygiene program where I was repeatedly called stupid, careless, and cussed out in front of fellow students and patients (which made meeting course requirements nearly impossible since my patients wouldn't come back). I'm not sure if the staff was sexist (there's only been one man to ever graduate from the program) or if they abuse everyone (when I tried to get other students to help me file a complaint, they said that they were afraid they would get kicked out of the program), but I'm leaning towards the latter. I mean, I saw one poor girl get screamed at because she needed to go to the bathroom! The professor told her to either sit down or don't come back. This was the most unprofessional, disheartening joke of a "school" I've ever seen. I've attended two other universities and have since taught in a secondary education setting, and I have yet to see anyone act in such a deplorable manner as these...
