Dollar General — Local services in Harrisburg

In general...I like Dollar General. Prices have come up some. What I have the biggest complaint about are the food prices! Milk is out of line for sure, eggs, etc. So I try not to buy food items there. Today I got chocolate milk because we were out and I didn't want to drive to get it. I normally enjoy shopping at Dollar General. You have "stacked" your merchandise in the past year. The store that I shop at the most is really crowded. You moved shelving together to make smaller isles and ..squeeze..more rows of merchandise in. Really narrow isles....you put boxed and racks of merchandise in the all ready narrow isles!!! Sometimes I just leave without getting everything because it is too hard to navigate the narrow isles with other shoppers. All in all...I avoid Wal-Mart as much as possible and shop a grocery store and Dollar General.. Keep your prices down. Keep your stores non cluttered. (They are cluttered now!) Keep your stores clean! Keep your employees helpful and presentable to the public! keep your stores staffed to accommodate the shoppers. Can you not afford to have at least one employee "on the floor" and one employee at the cash register? ? Keep up the good work and lower prices. You will then have...

The workers are constantly stocking. I realize that is part of their job. However, when they can see me standing at the register waiting for them, instead of stopping what they are doing to come check those in line out, it is quite frustrating. Sometimes they even see us standing there, yell out “we’ll be right with you!” And then continue to do what they are doing for 5 minutes. And there is often more than 1 worker. If it was just one worker it would be different. But there are multiple. Help the guests...

There was a clear drop off in the store's upkeep and the atmosphere in the past few years. It was dirty but is much better after the remodel. Seems as well-stocked as one can expect in the current state of the supply-chain. I'm not a fan of the employees that curse and complain about their job loudly across the store and while they're running the register. DG is privileged to have our community's patronage and they need to ensure their daily interactions with the community...
