WOW π³! The hike was worth it! Even with the drought, I was impressed π! I can only imagine what this waterfall would look like when there isn't a drought. First, π₯, the parking. There are two parking π ΏοΈ areas. One is at the entrance of the trail, the other is at the bottom of the hill and closer to the road. Have $5 dollars handy to pay for parking π ΏοΈ. I believe they check to see if you paid. There is an outhouse at the lower parking area. Bring your own hand sanitizer and wipes. There isn't a sink. Trash ποΈ is carry in/out. Pets are welcomed and they have to be leashed. There is no cell phone π± service. The trail to the waterfall is moderate to difficult. You are going up a mountain ποΈ. The difficulty decreases the closer you get to the waterfall. There are two bridges, the King's Landing and the bridge of Khazad Dum. I had the chance to say " You shall not pass!" on the Khazad Dum bridge to fellow hikers. They laughed! There are remnants of construction of a trail and planks have been placed where the ground gets muddy. But, there are a lot of "I am Groot" roots and πͺ¨ rocks to climb on or over. My friend, Auther Itis, complained here and there. People stopping to rest was not uncommon. The waterfall is tall! It's also popular! You can get close, for now. You may want to have a swimsuit π©² because there are a few places where you can sit in the water π¦. The water and rocks look so clean! I heard several different languages being spoken. I was asked to take peoples pictures with their phones or πΈ cameras. There were even children there. Very little litter. What to bring; a good pair of hiking π₯Ύ shoes that are waterproof, water to drink, backpack π, bug ππͺ² repellent and hiking poles would not hurt. If you are disabled, have health issues or are struggling with weight, I wouldn't recommend this visit. You can't use a stroller. I encountered parents carrying their kids with harnesses. The hike is about an hour, one way. If you like hiking π₯Ύ, give...
Β Β Β Read moreI do say it's worth the hike if you have an appreciation for life's natural beauty. It is rewarding for the hard work and dedication you have in order to climb this Mountain to be able to witness 1st hand the Earth's beauty put there by our creature to enjoy.
I am not a hiker as a matter of fact, this was my 1st time I've ever been camping in my life. Im a 39 yr old adverge built women. Im 5ft not skinny but the solid thickness kind im not super fit where Im a health nut but I do love to stay moving and a passion for doing yoga. I hiked this trail with my aunt who is in her late 60s and my cousin who is in his late 30s. We all went in late August it was overcast but hot. The hike was long and Rocky with big roots coming up out of the ground. My aunt and myself found walking sticks which made the hike easier. We had to take a couple of water breaks and it did feel like it was taking forever to get to the top. When we finally made it, the beauty of the falls was breathtaking. I didn't have much Mosquito problems and I did go in between the rocks and put my feet in. There was a music shoot going on with a man playing a guitar to a young couple in love.
The hike down was much quicker and easier. In my opinion I feel the climb was worth it plus you just feel better about yourself after making this Mountain. You only live once, how often do we take breaks in our busy lives of everyday routines and can really get connected...
Β Β Β Read moreLocated in Crawford Notch State Park at Hart's Location(Livermore),New Hampshire, USA, this picturesque waterfall just sits at the end of 2.5 km Arethusa falls trail, it takes around 1hour from the parking lot next the high way 302, the hiking is not that hard, but it would take more time if with young kids, the waterfall is beautiful and sounds great after the one hour hiking, although the water flow is not that much comparing Niagara or Victoria Falls, but if you visit Mt Washington, and stay around this area, it is nice to hike and see the tiny treasure deep in the woods. It is beautiful driving on hw302, from the town Carroll, and the people are very kind and friendly and helpful. I had a very nice experience in the early fall, leaves just start to turn red. The waterfall is part of White Mountain National Forest, most famous one is Mt Washington, with beautifully scaring the Auto Road and Cog Railway to it's peak. It's a lifetime experience, many people proudly put the sticker "This Vehicle Climbed the Mt Washington" on their car, which was in the entry package(cd telling you history and how to drive on the auto road, sticker, and other pamphlets) given to you at the gate after paying not that cheap tickets, but after all that experience, it's worth it, so plan an extra half day to visit...
