It was my first time shopping at Tates, and I really enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The isles were wide, and shelves were well stocked as the staff were busy with taking care of those needs. The prices seemed competitive, and their selection was impressive. The one kink or concern during my visit was the men's bathroom. To simply say it had been neglected is a huge understatement. The fixtures were straight out of the 50s, worn out and worse - wasn't clean, and it smelled like it. The exhaust fan cover was missing, and the fan didn't work. Much to our surprise this small store offers a section to the far left when you enter that is filled with rows and rows of just about anything. One needs to watch the expiration date on all products. Much is sold by piece at low prices but if you're wanting best deal I'd say check out the case deal. Many spices,marinades,canned vegetables & fruit,paper products, school supplies, cereal, boxed cake & cookie mixes.    Read moreI've always enjoyed coming to Tates. But today I bought a 2 pack of Boston butter on sale and simply asked the older guy in The meat market if i could get one of them cut into. He informed me in no uncertain terms that they could not do thT because they weren't making any money on them anyway. He never asked why I wanted that done and also I would have been GLAD TO PAG THEM TO DO IT. I worked in the retail business for over 30 years and know what customer service really means.
