Was looking for peach picking nearby and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this spot! I’ve tried a couple of other places over the years and all those places got very overcrowded and charged even on days they had nothing left, or there weren’t really peach picking options. This one had ample parking on a nice Sunday. The peach trees are close by, walking distance about 2-3 minutes from where u purchase the size box u want. I got the $28 box, while it seemed small, it fit a good amount for my family of 4. There are people in tents at each section that provide direction for what you decide to do. The man on the tractor near the peach and nectarine trees was very helpful in guiding my family where we needed to go and what side was ready and what was left. The peaches were very sweet and juicy, while the nectarines were a little harder and slightly sweet. They had a food truck serving brisket for the weekend and it smelled divine, but we didn’t have time to try it, hopefully next time. Their market is small but had the usual stuff you’d need, such as apple cider donuts!

Autumn is a fantastic time to visit Harvard, MA for its sheer New England beauty/ambiance and for the harvest. Carlson Orchards farm store is a perennial destination for their fresh fruit, produce, pies, cider and other farm products. The Carlson cider barn is pretty awesome (though we deliberately visit when it’s not crowded so we have our choice of where to sit and enjoy their pressed cider). The cider barn offers a range of non-alcoholic pressed cider and hard ciders, as well as pizza and other snacks. We haven’t done pick-your-own fruit; but other reviewers have insights to offer. Jordan Brothers Seafood is on site this year (2022) every Thursday from 2-6pm, offering wild-caught fish and scallops. Their fish is a bit pricey but top quality.

Carlson's Orchard: A Tranquil Haven of Natural Beauty and Bounty

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque countryside, Carlson's Orchard stands as a testament to the timeless allure of nature's bounty. This enchanting orchard, located just a short drive from the bustling city, offers a serene escape into a world where the rhythms of life slow to the pace of rustling leaves and the sweet scent of ripe fruit. Carlson's Orchard is not merely a place; it is an experience, a sanctuary of both natural beauty and agricultural heritage.

The moment one arrives at Carlson's Orchard, the senses are immediately engaged. Rows upon rows of fruit-laden trees stretch out as far as the eye can see, forming a symphony of colors and scents. Depending on the season, the orchard showcases a rotating palette of apples, peaches, pears, and cherries, each with its unique flavor profile and culinary potential. Whether you are an experienced chef or a casual fruit enthusiast, Carlson's Orchard invites you to savor the essence of these fruits at their peak of ripeness.

Beyond the fruits themselves, Carlson's Orchard offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the rhythms of nature. The orchard is a living ecosystem where bees and butterflies flutter among the blossoms, contributing to the pollination process. Visitors often find themselves captivated by this delicate dance of life, gaining a newfound appreciation for the intricate web of nature's interconnectedness.

One cannot fully appreciate Carlson's Orchard without acknowledging the dedication of its custodians, the Carlson family. For generations, they have tended to this land with unwavering devotion, preserving its natural beauty and heritage. Their passion for sustainable agriculture shines through in the practices employed on the farm, from the careful pruning of trees to the minimization of chemical inputs. This commitment to eco-conscious farming is not only an inspiration but also a model for future generations to emulate.

But Carlson's Orchard is more than just an agricultural gem; it is a gathering place for families, friends, and communities. The rolling orchard grounds provide the perfect backdrop for seasonal festivals and events, from apple picking in the crisp fall air to picnics under the dappled shade of blossoming trees in spring. Children frolic amidst the rows of fruit, forging memories that will last a lifetime, and adults find solace in the orchard's tranquil embrace.

In our fast-paced, urbanized world, Carlson's Orchard serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving natural spaces that rejuvenate the soul. It beckons visitors to step away from their screens, leave behind the noise of city life, and embrace the simple pleasures of the countryside. It offers a chance to reconnect with the land, with each other, and with the timeless traditions of farming.

In conclusion, Carlson's Orchard is not merely an agricultural venture; it is a testament to the enduring beauty of nature and the harmonious relationship between humans and the land. It is a place where one can taste the sweetest fruits of the earth and, in doing so, nourish not only the body but also the spirit. As we continue to grapple with the challenges of the modern world, places like Carlson's Orchard serve as a beacon of hope, a reminder that amidst the hustle and bustle of life, we can always find solace and sustenance in the...

I want to honestly tell people about our experience at Carlson Orchard.I hope people take the bad reviews seriously before deciding to go to Carlson Orchards. I know many families with children go there. They would not be happy if this happened to their family and I know would feel the same way most likely. I was in the shop with my children. We were buying cider donuts and looking at apples to purchase. We were opening the fridge door to get the apples. I was grabbing a bag and I told my daughter to grab another one. The lady behind the register yelled out "don't open the fridge if you are not purchasing anything, shut the fridge to my daughter." My daughter did not even have the fridge open for more than a few seconds. I was so confused by this. How do we buy apples if the fridge is not open. And how would she randomly assume we were not buying anything. We were going to purchased it all. It was all very uncalled for and out of the blue. I told her she was not being very friendly and she needs to work on her customer service. She didnt seem to care and responded with "okay". I asked her name. It was Katie and then she told me she was the owner. Shocking behavior for an owner! My daughter was clearly upset as was I. We will not be returning. Do as you wish, but I know I would not want to support a business who has an owner who treats families, kids none the less like this. If she didn't seem to care after being called out regarding her behavior towards us, I doubt she will have a different perspective to another family. I have never in my life written a bad review. I get people have bad days, but this was uncalled for behavior from an owner of an establishment. Complety uncalled for and out of the blue. The rest of the staff we did encounter were pleasant. I would have returned if it was not for this owners behavior. She really upset my daughter and made her feel like she was doing something wrong. She upset me as well for how she treated us. So sad one person can ruin the whole experience by being so unkind. We will not be returning to Carlson Orchards or buy any of their products again. I also sent an email to Carlson Orchards with no response. This goes to show they don't care to even apologize or acknowledge...

‼️Awful business where customers are treated like thief and forced to buy extra‼️

I’m writing this Carlson Orchards review to warn families about our shocking experience at their pick-your-own peach farm. What started as a fun family outing ended with being falsely accused and forced to purchase unnecessary products.

❓What Happened at Carlson Orchards PYO:

We visited for white peach picking with our family of three. At check-in, we were told clearly: no eating while picking, no bags, overflow can be consumed at benches. We followed ALL stated rules and filled our small box with minimal overflow (these boxes are designed to prevent excessive stacking anyway).

⚠️The Confrontation: Two Carlson Orchards employees stopped us at exit, claiming we picked “too much” and demanding we buy a second box. When we questioned this, they insisted they’d “explicitly told us this rule” at check-in.

This was completely false.

We were NEVER told about overflow limits. We heard the eating and bag restrictions clearly, but no overflow policy was explicitly mentioned. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication, staff accused us of lying - essentially calling us thieves.

🔎Why This Happens (Based on Multiple Reviews): After reading other Carlson Orchards reviews on social media, I found various similar complaints. The pattern? They’re paranoid about inventory for their upcoming peach festival, so they’re squeezing customers for extra money over normal overflow amounts. They’re treating paying customers like criminals due to poor inventory planning.

Final Verdict on Carlson Orchards: Skip this farm entirely. The disrespectful treatment overshadows any value. Being falsely accused of lying while supporting a local business is unacceptable. Multiple area orchards offer better experiences without the hostility.

Save your money and dignity. Choose a farm that appreciates...
