This used to be my favorite course to play on weekdays. I usually start my play shortly after noon time. I was playing by myself and got through the front nine in slightly less than 2 hours. But soon after I began the back nine, all of a sudden these 2 guys in a cart came up behind me on the tee and said, "You don't mind if we cut in, do you?" My response was, "Did you come off the front nine?" They said, "NO. We have a league today and we need to play a couple holes for practice." I never got a chance to say, "Yes", or "No." They just teed off and bolted down the fairway in front of me. Now, there wasn't anybody behind me at the time, but when I got to the number 11 green, I noticed that there were 6 guys on the 13th green drinking shots and just joking and hollering while a 4-some was standing in the fairway waiting for them to leave the green. But that didn't happen for a good 5 or so minutes while this group of 6 continued to drink shots. By now, what had been a golf round that was moving swiftly had become a test of patience. With these guys from that golf league clogging up things after butting in front of me and the line of groups waiting in the fairway on #13 for this party of 6 guys to finish drinking their shots and move on, my swift moving golf round turned into a nightmare. It took over 2 full hours finish the last 7 holes. My question is, who lets groups of 6, or more, go out on the course together? Second, since when are guys from a golf league allowed to just go out in the middle of the course and butt in wherever they want, thus holding up play for...
Read morePlayed here yesterday. Overall the course was in good shape, but my group and I witnessed something we never have on a golf course:
There was a group of 10 players in front of us and paint dried faster than their pace of play. Instead of breaking up into groups, they insisted on playing together and it ended up causing a huge log jam behind them. They were reluctant to letting any groups pass them (no clue why). 18 holes took 5.5 hours.
They also had some of the worst etiquette I’ve seen on a golf course… I’m all for drinking a couple beers and having a good time, but these guys were loaded. They were seen doing donuts on the tee boxes and driving their carts on the greens. There’s absolutely no reason to be doing that.
At one point, a member of our foursome accidentally took his tee shot and it landed roughly 45 yards to the right of where the group was taking their second shot (they were in the rough, my buddy lined one perfectly down the fairway… honestly one of the best shots I’ve ever seen him hit). Admittedly, he didn’t gauge the distance correctly and we probably should have waited to take the tee shot. The group ahead of us took the ball on the fairway and chucked it back in our direction.
The club was reluctant to do anything about their page or play or their antics. We called multiple times asking for something to be done, it didn’t seem like any employees cared. Won’t be...
Read moreWent here this past weekend for a bachelor party. The cart paths remind me of the roads in Baghdad, potholes and pavement pushed up into mounds from plants/ weeds growing through it. The tee boxes, forget it. If you can find a place good enough to get any footing, there’s nowhere to place your ball for a solid shot. Fairways are trashed from lack of maintenance and people not repairing their divots, and the bunkers are full of rocks. Our group of 8 (two foursomes), came together on the last hole and as we were chipping onto the green a very unpleasant man named Steve came out to inform us that he was getting several complaints from people saying we were golfing as a group of 8. Steve is a liar…. He had a very nasty attitude and was extremely rude. Don’t get me wrong, we had music playing and one in our group removed their shirt due to losing footing during a shot and falling into “sewer like” water, but we were never holding other groups up and when a group did catch up to us, we let them play through. We were also refused service as we were waiting for our rides to pick us up. I will never play here again but I hope Steve has better days and becomes...
