Been working here for well over a month now, and I'm not really sure what my job is lol. I do a tremendous amount of sitting down playing on my phone trying to find another job, or studying how to rank up here. Sometimes I walk around for 3 hours just looking around meeting people. Then I'll sit in the shop again for a few hours. My job has been threatened each and every time that I've tried to preform any work not handed to me be the newest guy in the building. My first week here I found all 4 of my team mates sleeping, for hours, but one of them uses that against the others somehow as a behavioral issue to the leadership. The only one that ever showed up on time, only did it two days in a row, and then they fired him. I had been there about two weeks at that point. He was the leader hand, and that's who we get the jobs from, but I had only been on one job anyway.I have thoroughly investegated the reason behind his firing, and still question it, and discuss the event with my enemies (co-workers) a few times each week. We all have a different theory, but nothing solid. There was a tremendous amount of arguing and disgruntled bickering from all of the crew before, and it's not changed much. Since I'm the new guy, the leadership seems to have placed a good deal of blame on me for various things. I've told them to please help me to find work. I have all the communication devices. And am early for work all by myself each day for about 30 minutes, then some of the others come in an hour or two later. My chain of command switched again yesterday or the day before. And again I was given verbal corrective action the 4th time in a row for the same supposed crime that happened the day before that. So it's always interesting around here with the healthy stress. No one sleeps anymore. But if they did, at least I could find them, and that's important for me. I bought some full shares of the companies stock at 3100 dollars each before becoming employed here, and that is paying off well. Wish I'd have done that years ago. My team doesn't seem interested in finding out what effect our jobs have on the other employees, so I try to go beyond, and engineer some different ways to improve things, but don't dare attempt to physically interact. I'm loosing weight from all this walking, and I speak to a lovely lady (mask-hopefully beautiful) sometimes, and may ask for her number. We could be work related family like relationship?!? Anyways. So I have to go to work now. Bye. That's my experience so far. I left out a tremendous amount, due to time frame. They changed our hours the day before yesterday, but I found out after working (play on phone) for an EXTRA hour and half alone yesterday. Have you ever felt superior to everyone around you, yet they are all your boss lol. Crazy. The best part is that obviously I have been accepted into the firm because the smack talk in front and behind now included me. From the top...
Read moreI've been here 1 month now, it has been a blessing! I got insurance for me and my family on my 2nd day and our insurance cards in the mail about a week after that, I was able to see a Dentist about a terrible toothache I had been having for months. I visited the ER for a Sinus Infection my copay was $17 and ALL my Prescriptions have been covered by insurance NO COPAYS!! On the days I work at Amazon I leave work in Lots of Pain. My feet, my knees, my lower back and sometimes my body is attacked with Cramps and Muscle Spasms (a nurse friend told me to eat mustard or pickels to stop it, so instead of butter I loaded a dinner roll w/ Mustard and ate it Surprisingly it WORKED within an hour, now I keep mustard in my work bag at all times). If Working at Amazon you MUST STRETCH and for me, going to the GYM and doing SQUATS to strengthen my Back & Knees because I work in "Rebin in Induct" this is the most Physically Challenging job I have ever had. My feet & sciatica always hurt, I take 800mg Ibuprofen & 1000mg Tylenol around the clock. I take my 15 min break at my work station unless I need ice for my water bottle or bathroom use, because it takes a total of 6 -7 minutes to get to & from break room so I sit on stack of bins to enjoy my break, rest my feet, eat cookies, and take pain meds. Usually they rotate us after each break so if we Rebin from 7am - 10am we will Induct or Pack from 10am -12pm and switch up again after lunch. The PTO has been very helpful especially on the Voluntary Time Off Days we've had I put those hours under my PTO so my pay wasn't short. You also have vacation time that starts building right away you can get 401k, Stock, Life Insurance, and more right away. So this is why a lot of people are pushing and working through the pain. The management and PA's seem cool and sometimes they are working in pain too! So if your starting over in life Amazon is a good place to start $15 hr is decent pay more depending on shift. After 30 days at Amazon you can put in a Transfer to different positions/shifts and Amazon locations and if you want to leave give them notice that your leaving even if it's a few hours notice sot your able to get rehired right away if should you need it. Amazon is a great company with great benefits, but it is very, very hard work, I've worked easier jobs, but "NO BENEFITS PACKAGE" no PTO, no 401K & STOCK and no chance of being rehired at...
Read moreAs someone who came to this country to embrace American values and build a new life, I found my experience at this Amazon facility disappointing. This Amazon facility is a clear example of how corporate America has lost touch with the values that built this Nation. As someone who came to the United States to embrace freedom, unity, and the dignity of American citizenship, I was disappointed to see a workplace more focused on ideological symbolism than national pride.
The building displays all kind of foreign flags and promotes themed months (Pride, Hispanic Heritage, Black History, and others) that claim to celebrate diversity but instead reinforce division. If we are truly equal, why are we constantly separated into categories? This kind of “inclusion” feels more like segregation dressed up as progress.
Amazon’s messaging leans heavily into identity politics and what many would call a “woke” agenda. It prioritizes virtue signaling over merit, unity, and respect for those who’ve chosen to leave behind painful histories in their home countries. For immigrants like me who came here to become Americans—not to relive the past—this environment feels politically charged and deeply alienating.
The constant emphasis on race, gender, and ideology doesn’t foster unity, it promotes tribalism. America was built on shared values, not curated identities. I hope Amazon reconsiders how it presents its values, especially to those of us who’ve chosen America as our home...
