My wife and I had a pretty disappointing experience today. We were the only English speaking guests on the boat out of 60 guests, which wouldโve been fine, but coupled with everything else, made us feel like sore thumbs. The boat was WAY over packed. At one point I went to the restroom and there were 2 people INSIDE the restroom who I had to push out of the restroom to use it. We were the last ones picked up in Waikiki and because of that we were the last ones to board the boat, so we also got the worst seats on the boat. We were told by staff that it wasnโt a big deal and that we could move around throughout the trip but every time we did move somewhere else, we were tapped on the shoulder and asked to move.
It was made very clear by the staff that we were the only 2 people drinking alcohol on the boat. They made a comment about it every time we got a drink. They also charge $8 a drink, so I hoped they wouldโve stopped pointing that out and let us keep purchasing their overpriced beers. (We only had a couple drinks each on a 3 hour trip.)
One of the tour guides asked if we were celebrating anything in particular. I told him my wife and I were celebrating an alone trip after our daughter was born 7 months ago and he said, โWow, you must feel really guilty leaving her at home!โ Not exactly what two new parents who are missing their baby wanted to hear.
Our favorite person we interacted with was the bus driver, Georgia, who gave us a lovely tour on the way to the dock. We also enjoyed the sandbar, snorkeling, and the turtle watching. Just wish this company wouldโve paid more attention to the guest experience instead of packing as many people as possible on a...
ย ย ย Read moreI am writing to share a serious safety concern regarding an incident that occurred on Friday, May 9, 2025, while we were on Captain Bob โs Snorkeling cruise.
During the excursion, I was stung by a Portuguese man oโ war. As an internal medicine physician and a generally healthy individual with no major allergies (aside from mild swelling to bee stings), I was shocked by the intensity of the pain and the rapid onset of symptoms, including wheezing and throat swelling โ symptoms that can quickly become life-threatening.
Prior to this incident, I had no knowledge of the creatureโs presence in the area or the severity of its sting. Unfortunately, there was no warning or information provided by the crew about this risk. Moreover, the boat did not appear to be equipped with a basic emergency medical kit containing essentials such as an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen), antihistamines, or corticosteroids, which are critical in such emergencies. Experiencing a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction while on vacation is terrifying. I strongly urge this company to revise its policies and procedures to ensure: All passengers are informed of potential marine hazards before entering the water. Each vessel is equipped with a comprehensive emergency medical kit, including medications for allergic reactions. Staff are trained to recognize and respond to such medical...
ย ย ย Read moreI was kayaking out to the sandbar today when I over heard a (what I assume is a) captain bob's team member yelling at fellow snorkelers from their tour boat. The snorkelers were not part of the Cap Bob group and were told to leave the area in a very unpleasant fashion. Said team member claimed they "rented" that part of the sand bar and was exclusive to their use. ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค Not sure what the law is on this but even if you do have commerical rights, let the tourists know nicely. I followed them back to shore and heard your team members expressing at them further as they came in. As far as I witnessed, the tourists in question were not disrespectful. Just a family paddling out looking for some nice memories.
