Insanely disappointed with my experience here. We are from out of state we came here to look for mens shoes for my husband but couldn’t find any reasonably priced. Soooo over priced it’s not even funny. Everything from shoes to clothes to furniture. The clothes did seem decent quality so I’ll give them that, they may be worth the money.
We also came to look for nice jeans for me. I found 4 pairs and a shirt. I couldn’t try on due to our newborn screaming so we were just going to buy and try on at the cabin we were staying at and have the items returned that didn’t fit. So when I got to the counter, I asked what their return policy was and she mentioned that the pair of jeans that were on sale would only qualify for store credit for returns. So I told her we’d pass on those since we are from out of town and just buy the three regular priced pairs. She casually asks where we are from and I tell her where and say that we were leaving the next day. She rings up my items and I leave. Well only one pair fit so I left the returns with my family member who lives there to return since we were heading back to southern Florida that next day and they were closed (Sunday).
My relative returned them yesterday and they told him he could only get a store credit for my jeans since he didn’t bring the card they were purchased with (my debit card).
I am fuming. What am I going to do with an $80 store credit to a place that is over 9 hours away?! When checking out, I told the clerk that we were from out of state and that we wouldn’t be here when they opened back up after Sunday, even asked about their return policy, and she never once mentioned that we had to have the card it was purchased with to process a proper return?! I’ve never been to a store who requires the card to put funds back onto the card it was taken from. Makes no sense to me.
And other than that, the customer service is AWFUL. My husband and three kids and I waited in front of the gun counter for about 5-10 minutes to be helped and they just kept chumming it up with whoever was in front of us that they knew so we got no help there and just left without getting anything from that department.
Overall a terrible experience. Plus all the front of store cashiers seemed bothered that I was there to check out.
So I would not waste my time or money...
Read moreUPDATE: Alexander's was very quick to respond to my post and go above and beyond to make things right! My mom and I greatly appreciate it, and will definitely be back. Thank you Alexander's!
SHOPPERS BEWARE Alexander's is a very nice, clean store with a eclectic variety of items. My first few shopping experiences here were great! It was my last visit that is causing me to leave this review. Even more so a warning to other shoppers of their unclear return policies that are leaving me to try and sell my birthday gift on Ebay or Market Place...because that is what everyone wants to have to do with their Birthday Gift. My mom purchase a super cute pair of ankle boots for my birthday that unfortunately are to small. She bought them out of the clearance section and was hesitate on the size, but they were the last pair. At checkout she ask if they could be returned/ exchanged if I couldn't wear them, and was assured that wouldn't be an issue so she proceeded with the purchase. (We have no grips about this policy.) Sure enough they were too small, but it was no biggy because I could exchange them right...wrong! We explained the situation to the Head Cashier and she informed us that they were a Final Sale. We even spoke with the lady that checked my mom out and recalled the conversation where she assured my mom that it wouldn't be an issue. But the Head Cashier refused to honor what my mom was told. In addition to all that, what really got me was the fact that there is no signage that states Clearance Items are Final Sale. I love Boutiques store and would rather take my business to them over Big Box stores. I have shopped at Boutiques stores all over the states and Final Sale items are always clearly noted as such...Final Sale. This makes it clear to the buyer that the items can't be returned/ exchanged. Clearance, Last Chance, Sale, etc. do NOT clarify Final Sale. We were not asking for a refund, but merely to apply the return to another purchase. For Alexander's to honor their word, and they did not. So now I have a beautiful pair of boots that I will have to try and sale on Ebay or Market Place and deal with that inconvenience. I would like all shoppers to know this so that you are not stuck with an item that...
Read moreWent up there on the 16th for the 'Before Black Friday Sale'. I was the tenth person in the gun line. It was very unorganized people didn't know if they were in the check out line or gun line. A guy that was a couple of people ahead of me walked by leaving telling everyone this guy bought fifteen of the same guns and all the 'cheap' guns were gone. He left the store. By the time I got up there the only thing that was left were three NAA's, couple of S&W SD9's, and the ruger. 22. I asked the guy to get me a couple of NAA's, he said only one NAA per person to be 'fair'. That was fine. He gave me the paper to fill out. When I was finished filling out my paper I looked over and asked him where the NAA was, he said 'I forgot to grab it and there all gone'. Really usually when you say you want that one they pick it up and put it beside you until your done with the paperwork. There was a guy screaming that it wasn't fair the guy in front of him got 15 of the same gun and a bunch more. And I agree it's not fair to the people that are standing in line for one person to get 15 of the same gun but only limit a person to 1 NAA. All the employees bought the cheap guns or let their buddies get first dibs. This is ridiculous!! Don't put guns on sell if you don't have a sufficient supply and make it a rule for all guns that you can only buy one of each like the NAA. Like I said I was the tenth person in line and all the cheap guns were gone in 10 minutes of time. And yet they are running the sale for two days. It's just to get people in there store and waste there time on imaginary guns that they have insufficient supply of. I will not be back to stand in line for imaginary guns that you don't have a sufficient supply of. And I hope you take my advice and go somewhere else or you will be disappointed too. I suggest going to Dahlonega Gold & Pawn. They are super friendly and have the best prices on guns and...
