Beautiful and private... except lots of traffic on the weekend for hunting. Chipmunks were around, and lady bugs covered our car! You could hear howling at night, and occasional turkeys calling and cows mooing as there was a nearby farm. If you go to the grocery store next to the casino, you can get a big bundle of wood for the same price as what you get at the gas stations for a smaller bundle. The closest gas station was about 20 min and kwik trip, maybe another 5 or 10 minutes further, and walmart is about 35 or 40 minutes away .The first night we were there, no one was around for miles. We heard a pack of coyotes or something yapping off in the distance, and as the night progressed, we heard a series of whooping noises, several wood knockings. Something was walking around our tent at night... We could hear someone/something bipedal walking... branches cracked and leaves crunched with every step. It was pretty freaky! I never get scared camping, but that night... I was frozen stiff. It was like a horror movie. You could hear your own heartbeat and breath as you breathe as quietly as possible so you can hear every sound around you.. the quiet of the forest mixed with my own fear was stifling. the sound of a gentle rain began beating on the tent. Then small rocks were thrown at our tent and around it, and we could also hear large rocks hitting together. It sounded like when you are walking in an empty riverbead that is full of river rocks and you throw a hefty rock and it hits against other large rocks, except the only large rocks nearby were the ones around our firepit. The single set of footsteps continued walking around our tent. I managed to quietly get the words out, "Did you hear that?" A scared whisper came back, "yeah!"
