Five Points Distilling / Lone Elm Whiskey — Local services in Heartland

In early 2022, I took a tour of the distillery with some friends and loved it.

In December 2022, I married my best friend at the 5 Points. Brandon and Logan were awesome. Logan is cool in that he takes you on an in depth tour and explanation of the distillery.

Brandon who I believe is the owner helped us pull off our special day without a hitch. The reception was small (50ppl) and it was simply perfect. This venue is not run by a large corporation so you can bypass all the craziness that comes with planning an event like a small country wedding reception. Brandon treated us with dignity and didn't price gouge just because we wanted to have a reception party. He was fair and amenable in negotiating the business deal.

On the night of, Brandon and his wife was very accommodating, and had worked with us on every detail we wanted to discuss. They even allowed us to modify the drink menu a bit since the distillery primarily serves spirits. They recommended a location to rent some equipment which we did for a very reasonable price. I was just blown away at how easy it was to do business with them and how helpful/accommodating they were.

I would definitely recommend the 5 Points to anyone. The specialty cocktails were superb and its just an adorable country side bar/distillery.

A Warm Welcome to A best Wheat Whiskey Yet We traveled to Dallas for a hockey game and my love for whiskey caused us to wander. Having a whole open Saturday my wife booked me a whiskey tour at Bendt Distilling. The tour was good and I grabbed a bottle of their Rye whiskey. Their bourbon was basic. I expanded our tour of Dallas Distilleries. Our next stop was Lone Elm. Here we found the best dark beer ever they were sampling and the best wheat whiskey ever had. Bill gave us a tour and tasting of their offerings. We were very impressed from start to finish on the flavors their beer and spirits offered. The beer was just a batch not in the market. If it was it would have high praises. The wheat whiskey is better than Weller reserve and Weller 107. Better than any wheat whiskey I have tasted. So complex an unique. Went by this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the time at Five Points. Very local operation, but big presence in both distribution and what they're doing with the whiskey. I can only imagine this is how distilling should be - friendly people just doing their thing and bringing whoever wants to be a part of the process along for the ride. I was poured some really delicious options in the tasting room that are only available in the tasting room - be on the lookout, the Rye, which was only 8 months old was already absolutely delicious. Fair warning - the drive up was a little confusing as to where to park and where to go, but in normal Texas fashion, we just parked in the most obvious place and I poked my head into an open door. Expect to spend only 30-45 minutes, not really a hangout experience unless you bring the crew with you. But, well worth...
