It was a very interesting experience. First, bring cash (or an ATM card to use at the ATM machine in the ice cream shop). They don't accept cards or mobile wallet. I read reviews ahead of time and knew to bring cash. My son and I did it all while there. The golf was fine and reasonably priced for 24 holes... a great experience, taking me back to when I was a kid. Lots of obstacles. Clean greens... complete with pirate ship you walk on, with two holes on the ship. The arcades have really, really dated games, mid 80s, early 90s (but that's part of the experience). The animal/mini zoo experience is non-existent (in that fences were up and told you what animals they should contain, but there were no animals in them). Probably for the best, TBH. Other older reviews said that the cages weren't the best situation for the animals or the people. They have a really cool bankshot basketball court that's challenging and free; but, some backboards were missing hoops (likely due to people hanging on them and breaking them. Still, they should be fixed). Most basketballs were flat and worn. The food is okay (we got burgers and fries, as everything else was sort of expensive). Definitely old school roadside-stand quality, not great, not awful. The park and entire site is kept really clean. There's a lot of outside seating and parking. There's minimal inside seating. The ice cream shack is cooled, but barely. I felt bad for the servers. The ice cream is Jim Mack's and is amazing. You can't go wrong with any order there. The staff and servers were all friendly and really helpful. The only thing that left kind of a sour "aftertaste" was the condom dispensers in the very clean men's bathroom. I get it. In the 80s and 90s, jimmies, polo cologne, and Tylenol in bathroom dispensers was the thing. In 2021 at a family establishment, umm not so much. FWIW, my kiddo and I had a great time and would definitely go back. But, despite all the motels in the area, please get rid of the bathroom balloons. I don't want to have to explain to my child at the end of an otherwise great time that while we can put quarters in all the other slots onsite, the prizes we get from the bathroom machine aren't any we want...
Read moreTonight my fiancé and I wanted to partake in some minigolf. We arrived a bit before 9 thinking that they were still doing their holiday hours (closing at 11). We paid and got halfway through the golf course before the lights went out. Thinking that it was just a blown breaker we waited for a bit until we found out that they were just closing with us on the course. My fiancé handed back the clubs to the employee to which he responded that he didn’t know we were still out there. Which is unprofessional and a bit rude, and he took our money so maybe he should have gone through the course to make sure there wasn’t any people? Or said that they were closing soon? However, I’m leaving a three star review because this is just one bad experience out of...
