Can't say enough about the fabulous services that we received from Raymond's. We recently purchased a home in Lake Lure that is situated on a heavily sloped lot. Access to the back and one side of the house was treacherous and there were some considerable erosion issues as well. I solicited design ideas and estimates from several companies. Justin came out and provided us with a design plan that was in line with others that we had received and at less than half the cost of the highest estimate. We chose to contract with Raymond's and haven't looked back even once.
Being a small family owned company, we had to wait a bit for the work to start but we are so glad that we did. The crew of Justin, JR, James, and 4 others worked tirelessly to complete the job. They were not able to access the site with a bobcat and so all the digging for 3 retaining walls, a stairway, and several drains/catch basins was done by hand. We expected 4x4 timbers and instead got 6x6s. We expected pea gravel and instead got river rock. There was some miscommunication on the placement of the stairway which was nearly completed when we arrived at the house. Without blinking an eye, the crew removed and replaced the whole thing the following day.
Every aspect of this service was stellar. We had to make long-distance arrangements for the work and communications with the office staff, Christine and Abby, was easy and without delay. The couple of times that I did stop in at the Garden Center, the staff there was attentive and eager to recommend the proper plants and materials for the spaces that we need to fill.
We are so happy with the work that we have Justin working up an estimate for another job to be done...
Read moreI moved to Hendersonville recently and wanted to landscape my entire yard. I've visited this nursery several times. I don't get the other reviews that claim this place is friendly. Not my experience at all. Without going into detail, the employees and owner are very fake. The only reason these people are nice and "helpful" is to get your money. The first time I visited this place, I was completely ignored by a rough looking female employee who saw me more than three or four times but ignored me so she could cater to an older woman who she thought had more money to spend (very obvious). Then when I asked the desk for help, I was "assisted" by a fake blonde woman who tried to upsell and push me into buying things I didn't need or want. Once she realized that I wasn't planning to buy the things she recommended, she avoided me. She seemed more like a used car salesman than anything else. The selection is decent, the prices are on the steep side. Not an enjoyable experience. Very fake vibe. I will not...
Read moreI read Lawrence's comment and realized that I'm not the only one who's had problems with many of the plants purchased from Raymond's Garden Center. In reading Raymond's response to Lawrence, it's clear that this business does in fact concoct any excuse they can find to dismiss their alleged return policy. Many (not just some) of the plants my wife and I have purchased from Raymonds have either suffered greatly or died. My wife has talked to them several times about this but they've swept it under the rug every single time and made excuses to her, just as they did to Lawrence, only to protect their bottom line. (I guess they didn't know that my wife holds a Ph.D. in Horticulture and is a Master Gardener.) If Raymond's has no intentions of accepting proper responsibility for their products, etc., then they should stop assuring customers they will offer refunds for plants and/or trees that are either diseased from the start or die; this is a very misleading tactic to...
