The Country Store — Local services in Henry Clay Township

Had problems twice trying to get a propane tank filled. First time they stripped the nozzle in my tank causing me to have to purchase a new one. Tonight, during the snow storm, I went to get another tank filled for my heater. The girl told me they weren't doing anymore tonight. WHAT? I had to travel an extra mile on the dangerous snow and ice covered roads and spend extra money at sunoco to exchange it. Nit to mention that last time I was there to get a 3 pack of dry yeast,, the shelf said 1.49. When I went to the counter they didn't know the price so the girl tried to charge me 2.29. When I told her the real price, she was irritated that she had to walk back to check the price. Really??? Country store has now lost all of ours, our family and friends...

By outward appearances, the place is quite modest, but the food is excellent. If I came this way again, I'd plan a pit stop here. Great burgers & very good apple dumplings. Driving from Pittsburgh to Md, I'd avoided stopping at too many nationally branded chain places with the usual fare. So glad I waited. The place is a lunch room + bakery + "general" store with souvenir shop and ice cream stand. I brought apple dumplings home for the family. Consensus opinion: well prepared, but needed another 10-15 minutes...

I love love love this place. I love reading all the signs and shirts they have every time I come here. Also I've tried many of their homemade jams and apple butter... I'm a fan for sure. I've never seen donuts before this last time of going and they have the one donut I've been looking for since Dunkin donuts canceled it...
