2023: Nope. I came here with a large number of people which I set an appointment to accommodate and they still only reserved two chairs for us. You can imagine this meant we were there for hours.
That wasn't terrible though, what made my review 2 stars was the service and how they charged us. Two of us had shampoo and a full cut, charged $35 each. Those who had a trim, charged $35 each. Those who had just a cut, $35 each. If it's the same price, why not advertise that or offer the shampoo/wash to each person?
My hair ended up crooked, one side about 1/2 inch shorter than the other side. It doesn't matter how I part my hair or how I style it, multiple people have pointed out the unevenness even months later. My poor niece was essentially given a bowl cut. I mentioned it to the stylist and asked if she could do anything to make it look better, it was not a good look for a little girl. She said that it looked great and that she couldn't do anything else to it. She asked my niece who said that she liked it at the time but the moment we got home she cried. It looks better as it grows out but I still feel bad that we didn't go somewhere else.
One good haircut, two decent trims, and three bad haircuts means I am going elsewhere next time.

2019: I messaged them on Yelp very very late at night and was surprised to get an instant response. I was able to get an appointment on very short notice which worked out perfectly.
Once I arrived I was a little unsure how I felt, I didn't have to wait even a second before I was greeted. They were attentive even while working on another client and checked in while I waited to see if I needed anything. My stylist listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and while talkative the conversation wasn't annoying or obnoxious as it is at some places.
After all was said and done I left satisfied but was offered the ability to return if any corrections were needed. I only had a simple cut but it's worth checking out if you're looking a...
Read moreI would not recommend this salon to anyone within our community to utilize services. The last two visits were not the most pleasant due to the fact that the owner, Mary, allows her hairstylists to smoke cigarettes in the back room of the salon which caused me to have to walk outside because the smoke inside the building even with the door open was bad. A business should not be exposing their clients to second or third hand smoke especially when there are children present. This is a major health violation. Further, clients should be spoken to in a professional manner and not talked to in a way that makes them want to break down in tears. Clients sometimes run late and they get side track especially when there is a recent death of a loved one. Instead of being delicate at how you communicate with clients given the situation, instead you are talked to in a not so professional manner. Managing a business and growing within a community is important and the way you treat people within your community is extremely important. Life happens but business owners should always treat clients with respect and patience because you do not know what your client may be going through in there personal lives. Accommodating and having compassion is what helps you grow. I have been a client with Hilltop Salon for a year now and even though they were not the most professional salon, I continued to return as a customer because I was always satisfied with the outcome of my hair. However, after a recent unpleasant experience with the owner trying to speak to me in an unpleasant manner, I decided to no longer support the business. Reviews are important for every business and I am sad that I had to voice my experience but the owner needs to take a moment to reflect her actions in how she handles situations as a business owner within...
